Bail Bonds - Can't talk to guy

Post by EUIX »

I am having a problem with the Mudd Hunt quest, I ended up feeding on the fat guy in the Bail Bonds before I talked to him to finish up the Santa Moncia part of the quest and now I can't proceed cause I can't talk to him (hes in that stupor), is there a way to reset NPC states using the console or some other way to get around this?

Oh boy...

I had the same problem once but I tested it before.
I wanted to feed on a young Japanese girl you'll probably meet later in the game, but before I did I saved the game to test it out. You shouldn't feed on characters you talk to ever for this reason. You won't be able to talk to them again. Hopefully after a long time he'll get back to normal, but maybe not.
It's a shame as you'll be tempted to feed on the Japanese girl with a schoolgirl outfit, but you shouldn't because you can choose to go on a mission with her. Like Arthur Kilpatrick, don't feed on him because you need to talk to him. Not that I was ever tempted to feed on that guy anyway.

Nope, he won't get back normal. Only solution is to load an earlier save, sorry.

The question remains, though - Does insight remove sanity, or will insight be given to the mad?"

Well thats a shame, I am too far from that part now to load a save I would be backing tracking hours of game, oh well. Is there no way to trigger the quest completion event from console? Though I noticed however that a police officer I fed on before after I came back to Santa Monica was not in that stupor mode, but was instead patroling normally.

Also another question, if I kill Arthur and fail that quest can I still proceed with the Mudd Hunt quest? Because right now it seems I can't proceed in the Mudd Hunt quest (there is nothing in Milton's Apartment downtown), because I haven't told Arthur that I found where the guy was going.

There is. The syntax is like this: __main__.FindPlayer().SetQuest("Questname", queststate). Now you only need to look into the questlogs to see in which state you're stuck and which one you'll need instead.

If you mean like you fed on Arthur and he just stands there in that dazy standing up unconscious sort of thing that they all do its easy to get him moving again.

you can either attack him, although he may go all silly and not talk then anyway.

or you can use a discipline like trance, hysteria or nightwisp ravens on him and then just walk close enough to him to break the discipline. He should just go back to normal after that. :)

How would I get this to work on a scared Arthur Kilpatrick(because i accidentally hit him) during the jumping the bail quest?

A good rule of thumb is never treat quest NPC's in a way you are not supposed to; I mean why feed on the guy, there are so many mortals all over the place where you can do that...

If you hit one accidentally, just reload, it is only common sense that if you continue the game from there it might be messed up.
