Would you recommend playing Morrwind after playing Oblivion?

I 'finished' Oblivion some days ago ('finished': Archmage, Listener, done mainquest etc. etc.). I didn't find the game all that intresting in the end, it felt as if I were doing the same things over and over again.
To the question: I'm wondering if you would recommend an person who have played Oblivion to try out Morrowind, or are the games so similiar that if "you've played one of them you've played them all". Are there any readical/Medium/Small differences between Oblivion and Morrowind? Do the story in itself make the game worth going through?
I've tried expressing myself as clearly as possible, I hope my thought/idea gets through to you who read this.

I think morrowind is a better game as far as an RPG. I would highly recommend getting it. even if you start it, get about half way and decide to quit, it is still worth it. the only thing that might deter you is the graphics. they are a step down from the gorgeous graphics of Oblivion. i've never been one to hate a game because of graphics, so its up to you.
also, Morrowind has weapons, armor, and equipment that are considered artifacts and relics. that means only 1 exists, and they are hard to find. you have to explore a lot to get them. they add replay value, unless you dont care about them.
but yes, do yourself a favor and get morrowind.

Morrowind's storyline goes much much deeper than Oblivion, but it doesn't really matter which one you play first imho. If you don't want a graphical setback, then go with Morrowind first, but that's the only reason i can come up with.

Tips...
Thanks for the oppinions. I'm going to go down to the store and give Morrowind an try (I don't have anything against old graphics and such, instead, alot of the time I find them "charming").

Well, they're not really THAT outdated, Morrowind was it's time way ahead, even today the ambiance can still take your breath away, but compared with Oblivion or Dark Messiah, just to name a few, they are indeed outdated.

There are also various texture mods available that will change the look of the landscape...I have downloaded and tried a few out and IMO, they bring the "look" of the game up to look of Oblivion...
Even if you don't plan on using texture mods...the game is huge and there are available mods for quest, armor, races...etc....
Check out some of the various threads and the sticky threads at the top of the Morrowind forum. I've played both, Oblivion on Xbox, which I gave up on about a quarter of the way through, and Morrowind on both..have played and replayed it many times, on PC with mods..
Eventually I will try Oblivion on PC, but for now I'm happy with Morrowind.

I played Morrowind before I ever even heard of Oblivion and I couldn't stand it. To me there were too many choices. Such as when creating a class. Plus the fighting was pure torture as even if you were right up next to a person smacking them with a sword it wouldn't register it since it was based on random dice rolls. Also I can't stand the graphics in the game. The textures overlapped and people were so BORING. Also the skills seemed very unbalanced. I here a lot of people talking about how great Morrowind is over Oblivion but I personally have never found that to be true in the least.

Morrowind has poorer combat AI, and the journal is at best mediocre. Other than that, I find it the superior of the two games. The quests were more varied and left open to you to determine how they would be done, in many cases. The variety of factions you could join were greater. All enemies didn't automatically level up with you, and treasure had a greater, and more realistic, variable involved. The land was far more varied in character. You could levitate. You could easily manipulate small to large objects in the environment. Morrowind had none of the ridiculous verbal non-sequiturs that pass for idle conversation in Oblivion, and that Bethsoft's PR folks insisted was realistic.
Both games have lots of mods, but Morrowind's far exceed those for Oblivion (something like 8,000 mods for Morrowind, to date). This includes extensive quest systems for Morrowind, of which there have been next to none for Oblivion. Also, given the very high system requirements for Oblivion, many people can't run mods with the game. Whereas, if you have enough memory to run Oblivion alone, you can easily run hundreds of mods simultaneously with Morrowind.

Thank... again...
Thanks for the additional tips. I'm gonna try out playing the game just patched first, I might try some mods later.
I did use some mods when playing Oblivion, and I do think that they increased the enjoyment of the game overall, so I quess there are some out there who could do the same for Morrowind. I will make sure to check out the Morrowind forums mod thread.

Morrowind had a much better beginning sequence. you really felt like you were alone in the world. money was hard to come buy and getting good equipment meant saving up. not too mention the combat was based on chance, so you had to have decent numbers to pick fights.
in oblivion, you get decent equipment in the sewers. you can walk over to the Alyeid ruins right outside the sewers exit and get even more valuable stuff to sell. and combat in the beginning was just too easy.
Bethesda got it right with Morrowind. they took a step backward with Oblivion. but dont get me wrong. Oblivion is one of the best games I have ever played. that speaks volumes for Morrowind.

I've played both Oblivion and Morrowind and I would have to say Oblivion is better. Morrowind is more for people who don't play many RPGs or are kinda new. Oblivion is more advanced in the way of AI, inventory/journal/spells screens, and graphics. Morrowind is better if you want to jump right in right away and without too many decisions. Oblivion is better if you already know what you're doing and are willing to spend around 10 minutes deciding what your character should look like. Still get Morrowind and complete at least the main quest and if you like do the side quests. I loved Morrowind until I played Oblivion, and now Morrowind just gets boring.

I'd love it if they remade Morrowind with Oblivion Graphics, AI, and Controls. Otherwise I prefer Oblivion to Morrowind, everything being easier isn't a bad thing, there's a lot less to keep track of, easier to know which quests are active that and that you've completed, in morrowind it's bigger and there are more quests (which just means more to try to keep track of with a mediocre Journal book) it's harder in the beginning to get items and such, and with the oblivion mods (I have like 20 and still run great) many many things can be fixed in Oblivion that you may not like, more quests added or more fulfilling rewards, Levitation was even added in one mod, teleportation as well, we can only hope that the next Bethesda game (if there is one) is better with aspects from both Morrowind and Oblivion

i have to say that i enjoyed oblivion better than morrowwind for many reasons. first off, i thought that oblivion helped u to choose ur class by allowing u to try a little bit of everything. in morrowwind, they just kinda threw u into the game. it was harder to choose the right skills and watnot for the right character. oblivion on a whole just seemed so realistic compared to morrowwind. despite that though, i have to say that morrowwinds plot and the guild plots all ran a much deeper than the ones in morrowwind. i would definetly recommend morrowwind.

I really liked Oblivion because of the
-Spoken dialogue
-The physics
-The magic system
-Journal.
-Also, the new magic system means you have to get your skill to a certain level, and then after that, you can cast the spell without a chance of failing. This is a great improvement from Morrowind.
-Also the skill leveling is more balanced, because if your going through a dungeon, you cast destruction spells a lot more often than conjuration spells, so it's a little more balanced.
-The fighting and AI have taken huge jumps forward. And if you wanted to, you could just pick up a weapon and start using it and it would actually hit an enemy, whereas in Morrowind, you either stick with the weapon you first started with, or you have to get loads of training before you can actually cause damage.
-You can actually play a pure mage in Oblivion, and don't need to make a weapon skill a major skill.
-The selection of skills has been cleaned up significantly. You only need to pick 7 skills instead of 10. Spears have been thrown out and there are no more throwing weapons (huge waste IMO)
-Shock damage on Target spells looked really weird. Not like lightning at all.
-Staves are a lot better in Oblivion, more like real mage staffs.
-You can actually see someone carrying their weapon.
However,
-In Morrowind, the landscape is a lot better and a lot more varied. In Oblivion, you often hit mounds and hills and it's impossible to scale them, so adventuring is difficult.
-The landscape was a lot more varied. Also, while they say Oblivion is bigger, it always felt to me that Morrowind was bigger.
-Fast travel is a little annoying. I hate using it, but I do because I am too lazy to walk. But in Morrowind, you always had to walk (or pay for travelling) and it was always worth it.
-I liked the design of menus and the fonts of things more in Morrowind.
-It really annoys me that you can't wear clothing over armour.
-Larger variety of clothing and armour in Morrowind.
-I really enjoyed making my own enchanted items in Morrowind, as a little hobby.
-Cast when Used enchantments no longer exist, which also annoys me. I had several enchantments I made myself that all really helped me at different points.
These are just a few points.

i think that Oblivion is just too easy. morrowind was difficult. sure, it was annoying at times, but you had a chance at failing to make a potion, cast a spell, or even swing a weapon. in morrowind, because of the chances of failure, you had to strategize. oblivion is kind of boring because it is just too easy, except of course when you have to battle 5 xilixia (spelling is way off). not to mention the fact that morrowind felt more realistic (no compass or quest notifications that sometimes told you what to do.) i know it sounds silly, but in real life, does a message pop up that says "go this way and look under there" etc

Again, you look to mods for answers, I know of several mods that increase difficulty by removing the compass, the quest markers, slow level progression or things like that, I haven't taken a look through all the morrowind mods so I don't know very many of those, but I've looked at all the Oblivion mods to see which ones I wanted to use

so I've got like 20 oblivion mods, small changes to big ones
And the Daedra you mentioned were Xivilai, tough they are

Surely, morrowind is just a lot plain better... And xivilai gave you trouble???? LOL

I experienced both games mod-free. hell, when I bought morrowind, I didn't even know what a mod was. but when I got oblivion, i knew that mods would make up a lot of the gameplay, but I still didn't want to use any. plus, i have a 360
ps - xivilia are a pain in the butt when their damn clannfears (spelling, I kill them, i dont care how to spell it) get in the way of casting spells or swinging a weapon. they are easy to kill if you apply a silence poison
