Currently installing BG2 - Patches?

This is the same question I posted in the Baldurs Gate forum but alas I was only able to get The Baldurs Gate 2 collection. I'm kinda iffy about starting at #2 but oh well. Anyway back to the purpose of this thread - patches - do i need any? Thanks.

Did you do a search on patches? Do that first, because I think you'll find your answers are already here. And the site owner really, really objects to thread duplication.

Oh yes, I checked out the sticky, I have no idea where to begin. I'm kinda dumb when it comes to tech stuff. I'm just learning the difference between a mod and a patch. Just for clarification, I just want the basic bug fixes, no extras like unlimited levels or anything like that. Maybe I don't even need any patches with the version I bought. I really have no idea.

Not the sticky. I asked if you used our search function, on the menu above the posts. I know the answer is in several threads, there. Just search on patch.

Just a suggestion... You may want to wait until you have BG1 and play it all straight through. Just a thought

Yeah thats what my plan was, I know i should. But I thought I was buying the whole collection, unfortunatly not. I dont think i can wait.
