I'am getting slaughtered here as soon as the fighting starts. I am not that good at this game :) Please please does someone have a save file for this one?

Thanks in advance

Glad to see you managed to get your hands on a copy of this game; I remember your post in GB Classifieds :)

That area can be quite difficult if you are new to the game.
A couple of tips:
Go to the area marked as #6 on this map.

Spoiler Below - highlight to read
Spoiler
There are some captives in that room... Release them for some good XP, and they will also help you in the battle. They are good fighters, and they make the entire fight *much easier.
Also, just before you do the above, buff your party by having your Cleric cast spells and by downing potions.

What classes does your party consist of? We might be able to help with further tactics if we know more about your party composition ;)

Uhm you mean #4 on the map, #6 is the one marked in the text. The walkthrough isn't entirely acurate anymore. Numbers in the text may not refer to the correct numbers on the map :( .

Well I'm not sure what your current party is. You have posted 7 characters, which is more than allowed in a party. Namely:
Fighter
Fighter/Thief
Fighter
Cleric
Ranger
Cleric/Thief (dead)
Thief

My first impression is that your party is very fighter and thief heavy. You have 3 dedicated fighters (2 fighters and 1 Ranger) and 3 (partial) thiefs. Especially the thiefs are not necessary in that quantatie. If you want more pointers on your party perhaps you should start a thread over it.

If you are in the situation that you don't have the money to raise one of your characters (I assume you don't have any loot to sell back in Kalduhar), I think you should reload. Unlike some other rpgs IWD doesn't have optiononel area's where you can get some extra cash.

What I do wonder is how did you get in this situation? If I recall corectly I wasn't in that situation at that time. Perhaps we can give you some pointers in that direction. :)

Hi there
- Fighter/Thief :)

Ackk!!! So no one has a save game?? Please say it isn' true. I don't want to start over but I will if I have to. I have a bad habit of saving on top of things dang it, so I would have to go back to the Vale of shadows.

Can anyone help?? Thanks

My current save game is very *far* ahead of that area, so I can't help you there. But.. there might be another solution to your problems.

There is a save game editor called Dale Keeper which allows you to do everything from adding items to your inventory to levelling a character. Conceivably, you might be able to "cheat in" some gold which would enable you to have your character resurrected. Alternately, you may be able to cheat in a resurrection scroll.
You could also, once you were familiar with the editor, change classes, abilities etc.

I strongly suggest, either through a new game or playing with the editor, that you vary your party a bit. As Grombag states, you are really heavy on fighters. A bit of magic can make many battles a lot easier. Equally, a second healer of some description wouldn't hurt either.
