Titan Quest goes....BOOM!
Folks, Obviously I am NEW here.....you can tell by all the mistakes....but I promise I'll improve. My RL name is Dave and I am a 59 year old gamer who is 100% disabled thanks to Uncle Sam and the jungle. My computer is....next to my car, the most important thing in my life because I don't get to leave home much.
I just finished playing Titan Quest and really enjoyed it. However, I found myself plaqued by bugs that oftentime took the fun away. Sometimes, especially near the end, the game would just minimize itself and keep playing; though I was unable to see anything.
I started "Immortal Throne" about two hours ago and am not really sure what is going on. I chose to import my old char, Zardoz who was a LVL 32 Soothsaver at the end.
So, I decided to check out a walkthrough and see what to expect. Either I have a mix of two games or I should just keep playing to see what happens. My game started above ground telling me to go to Helos (sound familiar? <g>. and I saw nothing particularly "new" except one NPC with a lightning bolt above his head.
The walkthroughs I went through all spoke of "starting in Hades" and I definitely am not in that area. I hate to think that the game is trashed....I spent a LOT of time on TQ and would be a bit upset if the IT addon is munched.
PLEASE is there someone here who might be willing to help me? I dunno, I changed to Vista...maybe that did something but since I am a retired LAN Admin I saw no errors except that my Life and energy are now numbers, like "179 out of 250".
Believe me.....I will appreciate any assistance you can offer. I loaded up Halo2 and Shadowrun to mess around because I am more than a little upset that this looks like yet another bomb.

You judged the entirety of Titan Quest Immortal Throne based upon one single new NPC.
Dude, look up all of what IT has to offer. There's a LOT more to IT than just a new type of NPC. Artifacts, Caravans, Scrolls, Items, A new act, new bosses and enemies, a brand new class, and so on. Why would you even buy a game without looking at what it has to offer anyways?

My friend,
Sounds as though you are judging ME <g>. If you've played Part II, did you start in Helos, go to the same places and such? I do see some new things BUT every walkthrough I have read starts in Hades.....not in Helos and the Laconia woods......and so on.
I didn't come here to be flamed, my friend, I came here for help. Fair enough? In my past I have run several BBS,s that were probably gone before you were even born <g>. I even had a Compuserve account when it was DOS based and even before Windows drew its first breath. Can you imagine? At present, I work as a Mod for a site dedicated to my Brothers and Sisters who managed to contract HepC in Vietnam, as I did. According to the docs, I should have been dead two years ago....but I beat 'em. I am now what is known as End-Stage liver disease and am working on about 1/4 of a liver. Because the VA has rated me as "housebound", I don't get out much but truly enjoy gaming. Favorite? Prolly "Diablo", we had a regular group that played on Friday nights.......sort like folks having a weekend poker game!! LOL
Please, my friend, understand that I am only looking at what I see now. Why do I still have Portals to the Orient and such if this is supposed to be underground? I just want help........and a chance to make even more gaming friends before it is decided it's my time to take a "dirt nap". Soooooo.....please be kind if you would and don't climb my frame when you don't understand my problem; for I certainly don't judge a game on one NPC.
Oh......and I forgot....for over five years I worked as a Staff Writer for an online game called "Illusia". It was all done over the ether......but by the time we had it finished the graphics engine was way too old.
