HELP

I recently acquired Icewind Dale but whenever I try to install it I get the message:
An error occurred during the move data process - 106.
Component: Minimum/Compressed
File Group: Minimum compressed
File: CREanim.bif
I have Baldur's Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast and Shadows of Amn and none of them have ever displayed this message. Bioware’s site says nothing of this problem in the Icewind Dale section and I’m stumped. Is there something I can to mitigate this or have I purchased a faulty CD? Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Bioware's site????? Only advice I can give is to read the troubleshooting guide in the manual and check out the IceWind Dale Troubleshooting FAQ section on Interplays site.....
http://www.interplay.com/icewind/techinfo.html......
Read through the Troubleshooting FAQ with the most common problems and if you can't find an answer there I suggest you drop them an e-mail at
icewind@blackisle.com as stated in the beginning of the FAQ......

Whoops, misprint. I meant Interplay’s site. I’ve already been there and e-mailed them. So far no response.

I know this is an old posting - I hope you have sorted out your problem. For others like me who are browsing - I also had problems with installing HoW over IWD (despite uninstalling and reinstalling many times - same problems)
I got a very quick response from interplay (as I always have - lucky me!)
During install I got error message saying could not overwrite certain files and I could not import my original IWD characters (probably as a result of the number of Creanim.bif and characanim.bif errors during install) I chos the option to retry and installation proceeded. My sister did not have these problems at all. ???
Nevermind. It is there and running and the occasional crash is sorted by deleting all the files in the data folder found in the Cache folder. Mmmmm....
I did not have this problem with installing Tales of The Sword Coast over BGI....

I am glad your problem was sorted. Ironically the error messages I got during install was something to do with the medium from which you are installing may be corrupted. Mmmmm. Maybe I will borrow my sisters for a reinstall - though saying that I have played 4 hours tonight and no crashes!
