Possible bug? - Severed Hand

I am on level 5 (I think!) the one where all the individual towers lead off. It is my second time through the game but this did not happen before. The difference this time around is I am now playing in Heart of Fury and have already installed HoW which apparently should have corrected the previously known bugs in IWD.

However, I am in Kaylessas tower. I have done as she has requested, worked my way up the tower and across the bridge to where the shadow mages are. I have just entered the first level of the mage tower but my characters are unable to walk through the door! I click in the room central to all the anti chambers but my characters wander around as if the door is closed or they are too tall to walk through...mmmmm

Has anyone else come across such a silly bug or is there another patch to download. (I no longer have the IWD patch as I had unloaded it all and only reloaded to add the expansion).

Other funny things that happen...if I get my thief to throw one of those fire bomb thingies (can`t remember the name !!) she starts to moonwalk! as does my mage on some spells! Funny to watch but sometimes they moonwalk too close before casting and I have to call them back....mmmm...

I'm playing through with HoW installed and haven't had that problem.

Tis strange.

I reloaded the game after posting my first message and the bug had disappeared (except that my characters do still like to moonwalk! lol!)

Oh well.... :D

AH! I had that problem about "too tall to walk through the doors" too. I thought it was my computer's thousands of bad sectors working up against me.

It really was funny ...

Anyway, since I was practically trapped in that upstairs room in the Severed Hand, I *had* to reload or I can't continue. Reloading solved everything and I didn't give it much thought.

Don't know about the moonwalking, though :D

PS Yshania: I'll send you my characters soon! (you can go to my homepage and check out their stats if you like .. just click on the IWD logo on the left when you enter)

Cheers Fatale - though you`ll need to tell me how I use them!

PS mine have all levelled (or nearly) again since I sent you them! I answered a post on the BGII page where someone was querying the use of mages (Aerie was the title of the post I think) anyhow check out the current party stats that I printed there showing my mage as the most powerful member of my party despite only 50 ODD life points! Hehe!

Fatale - checked out your chars! They are all higher than min by about 3 levels. Though you might want to consider the mage!

Sequence of spells:

1) Stoneskin
2) Conjure elemental
3) Conjure another elemental

When enemy revealed use elementals to attack, keeping party back with missile weapons (elemental great for blocking doorways!)

4) Web
5) Acid Rain
6) Cloudkill
7) Death Fog (getting carried away now!)
8) Once all area spells used Magic Missile to keep mage employed!

You can see why he is most powerfull! Block doors with summoned creatures then unleash! Not a dust mark on his crimson robe - though it is annoying if he is caught - I`ll never choose pure elven again!

See you later! :D
