Sarevok in Ascension? (SPOILER)

So, I've read that it's possible for Sarevok to betray you in the final fight of Ascension. Anyone knows what triggers it, if there's a way I can keep him *without* turing him good, and what causes the betrayal?
I realllly want him by my side when going after the Five without any kind of cheese.
