I've made it to the Hrakert Rift and I have killed the sea monster via exploding the station. When I go across the bridge-like thing with the lights lining it to the Star Map though, the game restarts my computer. This has happened before in other parts of the game, but never this often and never like this where it happens in more or less the exact same spot every time. I've probably tried it at least a dozen times and each time my computer restarts. If a save a game after killing the sea monster then the saved game is corrupted and won't load so I have to load a game before I kill the monster.

Is there any thing I can do to get past this point?

Sounds like a similar crash problem I always encounter in some games that I've played. Make sure that your audio drivers are up to date (Very important). If that doesn't work, try to tinker around with the DirectX Diagnostic Tool sound settings.
