This is going to sound really dumb...but how do you turn undead? I've played through BG2 and IWD a few times and I have never successfully turned undead. I used to try it a lot but I always just sat there while the undead hacked me apart, so I gave up and just did without. I'm currently playing HoF mode with only two people in my party and I'm thinking that for this battle coming up in dragon's eye it would be really nice to turn that hoard of undead. So my question is this, is there some kind of trick to turning undead or any possible reason why I've never been able to do it? My fighter/cleric is a level 12 cleric. thanks in advance.

If you attack with the cleric trying to do the turning, or have the whole party attack the turning attempt will fail. Try clicking the button for turning undead on before you see any of them. Then make sure the cleric doesn't attack.

Make sure you have AI turned off for the cleric who is turning so they don't start fighting.

"Turn Undead" works every round (6 or 7 seconds or something), so when you turn it on, the effect won't happen for about 6 seconds - you just have to tough it out til then...you should probably have some fighters in front of the cleric.

It is very worthwhile once you get the hang of it...

ok, I made sure AI was off and I cast sanctuary and stood right in front of a skeleton archer and tried it. I could sit there all day with no event. after sanctuary ran out I sat there as long as I could. died. reloaded. nothing. I then got the idea that maybe HoF makes it harder so I turned HoF mode off and tried again...cold wights exploded left and right. made that mob quite a joke. exciting to see it work for the first time. Is there any chart or something you can read to find out what level you need to be to kill what? apparently it much harder to do in HoF. anyone played HoF before know if turn undead ever gets useful?

Aah! - HOF mode. I don't really know too much to help you there...probably gruntboy would be the one to ask about that. I imagine it would still work, but maybe as a lower level cleric - I don't know of any charts, though...

I've got IWD and HoW, and never had trouble turning. Of course, I'm too low a level to rebuke yet, but still... I can't wait to see the combustible deadies.
