Some shops and wandering traders sell them but not in very large quantities, though.

well i guess i got lucky i bought 57 from a trader in twinblades camp one time....

yeah it sounds crazy it was like during the trader rescue quest i think when i was done i went back and talked to the guy and he had 57 so i bought them but that also was the only guy in the whole game i ever saw with any... i dont know though its true though cause thats how i opened the demon door....

If you eat 10-12 crunchy chicks in front of the Demon Door near Greatwood Gorge, it will open and give you access to the Wellow's Pickhammer.

uhhm well when i talked to the demon door it just opened up and said evil surrounds you like a cloack and it let me in i never ate any chickens at all.
