Hi all
Got a problem. I have the potion for Bandoth, but he wont open a dialogue about a secret so that I can give him the potion to get to lower dorn's deep. If anyone has a save file or a solution I would be grateful. I cannot honestly remember if at the beginning of this level if he gave me the quest. He may have though. Everything else has been explored and is dead. Cannot find the umber hulk who wants the badges to give him the second one. He is not there either.
Thanks

Bandoth only grants a little experience and useless advice for the potion and the umber hulk doesn't want a second badge, he just wants you to show him the one that you get when killing the Orog leader in this cave to proove that he's dead. You don't get more than XP and a little unneeeded advice for this.
So both encounters aren't important, if you are worried about the XP just renter the the cave and kill the respawning myconoids and ettins until you're satisfied.

AFAIK Bandoth will not have the dialogue option to accept the potion if he hasn't given you the quest earlier. Hence, you prolly have your mystery solution.

Hi there,
Thanks for your replies. If I can't get Bandoth to give me the quest so that I can give him the potion..how do I get into Lower Dorn's deep? Can't even see a door for it. Thanks.

There's a room with a big round table with symbols on it. Search there for a hidden door and a device to open it. You'll get in another room to the north where you have to enter the correct symbols in order to open another passage.

Sounds to me that Bandoth is worth killing after the razorvine quest.
He's worth a decent amount of XP with no Rep loss as well!

LOL!
His attitude deserves it as much as any neutral NPC I've found so far. You can have a funny conversation with him, though, if you keep him alive after you get through the puzzle and relight the forge.
I bought all the spells from him, and kept him alive for his potions, just in case
I was hoping he'd have somthing interesting to say about the noteI found on hishelper, but nope...
