Just something I thought I'd share..... Menhirs .....those smooth grey standing stones that are dotted about the landscape..... a useful trick I found when I had a low level character and had got into areas where the beasts were a bit too hefty, it is possible to climb those things, so if you get attacked by a pack of rabid wolves climb to the top, get out your bow or throwing weapons and just ping away at them, they attack the bottom of the menhir and just form a circle making them easy targets.

Another use is when accosted by large group of spiders or wolves I back against a menhir or tree so that I only have to deal with a few at a time which limits my damage. I never tried climbing one though.

Yeah those things can be used as a bit of safety spot - which is probably why they are there as this game can be very hard on some build paths initially (mage).

Climbing them can be a bit tricky so if you run to one you want to have practiced your climbing technique a bit or you will have a lot of scratches on your back.

I set up on one once and left the computer for a minute and came back some time later. I had quite an audience milling around me - like there were waiting for me to sing or something. I was lucky that none of the critters around me had a bow and arrow. Anyway I just plinked away with my Rogue throwing knife and went up a level or two.

Also you can 'pick up' quite a bit of stuff even while on these things.
