I am now in the tower area, I wanted to push the first loose brick but I can't... My character doesn't detect it and when I come near it it doesn't say 'loose brick'.

Is there something I forgot or need to do first?

Raise your scout skill. If need be kill wandering monsters for adv points then raise scout skill untill you can detect it.

Or maybe your just looking in the wrong spot?

In the collector's edition ce1.5, the brick on the second level cannot be used. But the strange thing is, the small room on the ground floor, west of the elevator, still has the two chests shown by the two yellow dots on the map. To get into there, you would have to hex edit your location, then hex edit location after saving to get back out. But hey, it's only a couple of chests so "Forget about it" :mischief:
