Worth It?

Post by Nippy »

Is IwD worth buying? How about HoW? And is Trials of the Luremaster worth d/loading? I like RPG's but I tried IWD with a demo and it bored me a little bit, however if the rest of the game is exciting I would buy it? Respond please! :) :)

Yes and No, it certainly can get boring at times, but is also enjoyable and the story can be interesting for some.

If you are going to get it definately buy HoW and d/l trials, the game isn't complete with those two additions. HoW as a game is too short but it brings a much needed increase of screen resolution and other graphical tweaks with Trials it is very much a better story. There is a lot of gaming in IWD, worth it since you can get it for so cheap now :)

Depending on what you like, definitely worth it. I also loved BGII SOA and the TOB add-on, but for some reason IWD has more replay value to me. Heart of Winter is good, but too easy and short. I just DL'd this trials thing today, so I haven't played it yet.

Yes. IWD has a great story and some funny dialogue, not to mention better graphics than BG2. The music is great and the fights are cool. :)

Nippy, being in the UK I know you can get IWD/HoW in a twin-pack for £20, maybe less in the sales. Even if you don't enjoy it, its worth it at that price. :)

Less talk, more fightin'. ;)

@Nippy: I certainly think you should buy IwD/HoW, and DL TotL, especially if it's only 20 quid.

The storyline is not as deep as in the BG-series. Yoy created your own party, so there is of course no PNPC interaction and also less NPC interaction in general.

The graphics is great :) The music is also great, and combat is more challenging. Strategic thinking is more important in IwD than in BG, IMO. And whereas there might be a couple of boring areas, some areas are just fabulous.

Buy it :)
