Godhood, anybody?

Actually, I'm still waiting for my computer to be fixed (and it's been ages since they took the love of my life away ... oh, the withdrawal pangs ... Image ), so I have this very gnawing question to ask the lot of you:
Anyone played an IWD character to Godhood?

I have these two level 30 characters (a paladin and a fighter) on the brink (meaning that their next level is stated "Godhood") when my CD drive konked, and I was just wondering if anything spectacular happens when they get to that level?

... oh, the withdrawal pangs ...

I wouldn't have thought anything happens - this is a CRPG and not D&D pen and paper.

30 is just another level - you can get to 40 in Throne of Bhaal.

@Gruntboy:
So what's it like on D&D pen and paper games? This girl lacks exposure on D&D and is rather curious ...

The godhood rank is merely a product of sarcasm on the part of the designers. You can't get any higher than level 30. It's a joke. Image

Contrary to popular belief, a barrel full of monkeys is not half as much fun as previously advertised, and is in fact quite horrifying.

Hello. On paper, when you reach level 30 you have the option to petition a God for the status of demi-godhood. If the God accepts you must undertake a quest equal to at least half of the last level of XP increase (something like that: a shed lod of XP points Image). Upon completion you attain the status of Demi-God.

That's all I know. There is guy called Drakron Du'Dark, he's a walking D&D rulebook, if you want more, ask him. Image

Mimir are magical living encyclopedias of knowledge. The owner may ask them questions and if they possess the knowledge they'll inform the user of what they know. Sort of like Alex Trebek. Image

How'd you include those animations into your post? It's a neat trick!

Ha HA
There is no rules for that, that demigod option is just one, but remember that getting 30 level in PnP is many years of roleplaying, most just retire their PCs before getting to those level.
But there are no rules above 30 level (well there are some but its used for gods avatars), since there are none, DM and players usually get to some agrement about what to do.(I never seen anyone getting to those levels yet)

Speak and he shall appear. Image

See, he knows much more than me. That was just one possibility that I espoused. It is the flexibility of PnP that CPRG's lack. You just keep levelling-up, with no DM/GM to pop down and say "my, your so powerful I'll elevate you to god-hood".

Plus once you've done this you can then just start a new character in a different adventure.

I have had the sneaking suspicion that Drakron is actually Gary Gygax, creator of Dungeons and Dragons (tm). I have no proof, though! Image

Kudos to you, Drak! You're awesome! Image
