Imoen Romance Mod(Spoilers)

Hey guys,
to make it short, I have a serious problem. I'm trying the Imoen Romance Mod at the moment. I'm still in chapter 3 and got all the three dreams. So far, so good. I also romanced Jaheira right to the end. However, I checked the global variables for both romances regularly. The imoenromanceactive value is still 1, which means I should be able to actually romance her. But naturally I'm really worried now, if this will really work out.

Technically my romance with Jaheira is finished and she's my "girlfriend". Will Imoen just ignore that fact, or won't I be able to romance Imoen now? I'd be really glad if someone could help me with this.

Somehow I remember having read something somewhere about telling Jaheira that you just want to be friends, which is only possible in the earlier stages, or the Imoen Romance won't work. Can anyone confirm this?


I assume this whole thing only worked because I haven't freed Imoen from Spellhold yet anyway. So maybe if I free her and get the actual romance with her started there's an option to break up with Jaheira or something. I'd be really really glad if someone could shed some light in this matter. I don't know the answer to your question but isn't Imoen your sister? o.o

I don't have the complete answer, but there is a time you are in the romance and she is your girlfriend. If you have multiple romancable characters in your party at the beginning you will romance them all, until the game forces you to choose between them. If you want to romance Imoen you could try to offend Jaheira so you won't have a romance anymore or you could kick her out and take her back in.

Yes, Imoen is your sister. But if you can be as evil as Sarevok or as good as a paladin. Why couldn't you romance your sister. Especially because it is your half sister and you never considered her your sister but your friend.

Doesn't work Grombag. What I'm telling you is that I have already completely finished the Jaheira Romance.

The Ease-of-Use pack allows for mutliple romancable characters, so that should fix your worries.

BTW - how come my PC with a 20+ CHA doesn't get the chance of three in the bed romps?

I think it is quite probable that, without the multi-mod, you are allowed one complete romance each game. Because, when the romance "finishes" - the dialogues cease - it's not over, it's just completed, and you live happily ever after. The game might mark you somewhere as "Jaheira's man", and Imoen romance won't start.

Oh, and about "incest" thing, I find that put rather strict. After all, you not only have different mothers, but the "father" is not exactly very orthodox, too. I seem to remember reading that the Imoen romance tells a different story about the origins of the children of bhaal than the game itself, and I quite like that. The idea of him concieving his children the, well, usual way, was always quite disgusting to me, not to mention slight weirdness of Immy and Sarevok being "'human", and our hero, say, dwarf, with people still saying "Imoen is the same age as you", and so on. So, why not?

Not to mention that the player's background shows discrepancies between BG1 & BG2.
Anyhow, there's a global variable that determines wether or not you're in a romance. I'm not technically savvy enough to explain it better.
Best bet remains the Ease-of-Use pack.

When I first played - I had the whole Luke Skywalker/Princess Leia issue - woman wanders round looking peachy and attractive and THEN you find out she's your sister. not fair. (even worse when you hear that Carrie Fisher was, shall we say, 'a bit of a tramp' by her own admission and 'went commando' to tease the boys on-set! A dirty-minded woman can be a national treasure - hence Imoen's lust appeal) the whole bit about her being Bhaalspawn is a bit odd full-stop - she doesn't start being the Slayer or attract the automatic hostility of everybody in sight like the PC does. when you walk into a bar, they don't say "Ah Imoen! Bhaalspawn die!!!!!" so perhaps she should be more like a cousin than a sister. not that I would have with my cousins, but many places it seems the norm.

Perhaps the idea of Child of Bhaal was made too literal in the game - perhaps any evil-minded supporter of Murder Inc could dedicate a conception to him - and that would explain how the children are so different. being practical - I doubt a female fire giant shares physical traits with a gnome or halfling, size-wise. you can't imagine the God of Murder to shrink down enough for those little tasks, even if he could boost himself back up again. Classical Greek and Roman mythology didn't explain how the gods did so much unlikely impregnating. (No I am not a pervert - that bull was Zeus, I tell you! .... Me sh-g a swan? nah - that was Andromeda that was.)

OK - so if we say that Imoen is only the PC's sister in a spiritual non-genetic sense, I will withdraw the remark.

Has anybody decided which supernatural creatures share the same number of chromosomes and can interbreed?
Imagine if a fairy and an ogre did...and the fairy accidentally bathes in some ogre-goo...what's that creature going to be like?

it also brings up the situation of nature/nurture. my head hurts.
