Mask of the Betrayer was released not that long ago and it doesn't look like many people have it seeing the lack of posts here. So tell me do you have the expansion?

I received my preorder over the weekend, but I haven't touched the campaign yet because there are patch issues that need to be sorted out during the next few days. I have however been looking over the new classes and feats. What I've seen so far looks good. The player models have been touched up a bit, and a few new heads have been added. The Genasi look wicked awesome, but I haven't figured out a practical build for their racial attribute scores just yet. The female water Genasi looks adorable, by the way.

I've testleveled a palemaster to 30 to have a look at the epic feats. Sadly, no epic palemaster feats were avaible. This might be another bug, since they did say in an interview you'd be able to get epic prestige feats, despite it being impossible to gain epic levels for them.

On a side note, I chose to test level a Palemaster because they have been seriously nerfed since NWN1. Their main attack, undead graft, used to have a DC that included your Charisma score. Now it's just always capped at a DC of 17, which means it will eventually stop being a useful attack. Since there weren't going to be any epic levels for prestige classes, I figured they would maybe compensate by letting us take epic feats that would increase that DC. Sadly enough they didn't do that.

I don't know if this goes for other prestige classes as well (epic feats that add additional Death Attacks rather than Sneak Attacks come to mind), but it's no good prospect for those who like to multi class.

That's it at any rate. I won't be playing the campaign for quite some time, as I intend to finish the original campaign first. And that won't happen until they release a few patches first.

Same here, I've been fooling around a little with the new models, the camera and it indeed runs a lot smoother than the original. I've also been reading about the epic levels and I was actually thinking about a multiclass since an epic wizard isn't all that awesome seeing as the spells cap at level 9 and you don't receive additional spells a day when going from level 20 - 30 so I might just do 15 levels or so in wizardry and maybe 15 more in say cleric? Don't know yet but fun to plan ahead :P

I think there are a few epic casts available. Summoning or polymorphing dragons, that jazz. You'll probably need to meet high wisdom or lore requirements for that. The Palemaster I test leveled had sort of mixed battlecasting attribute scores, so it probably didn't meet any epic spell requirements.

There are lists of the available epic feats appearing here an there. The Bioware forums would probably be a good, if chaotic place to find out more about them. There is also an epic feat list in the manual, but I'm not sure if it is complete. All the epic prestige feats I was expecting weren't there, but it wouldn't be the first time Atari shipped a game with an incomplete manual. Especially as far as D&D is concerned.

Yes, I have it preorder. It's not release to USA until October 9, 2007. :)

I had it imported from Europe, an Amazon account there is pretty sweet all things considered.

I have yet to get around to installing it, been too lazy and occupied with Titan quest, but it still sounds like an awesome game to play.

I have one with a DUTCH manual, now I'm Dutch but seriously I couldn't tell you what the manual says. The descriptions could be in chinese but I don't know how they ever considered translating everything the way they did. There is even some Spanish in there :P Seriously the manual is a joke, not at all organized and very uncomfortable.

Haven't bought it yet, but am thinking of doing so, cause I'm bored and lack something to play at the moment.
Will have to check up on some reviews first though as I do not just want to pay for more of the same, but want improvements to the game :)
Otherwise, I might as well read a book or something :D

It's good, they improved the engine, it runs so much smoother for me now with a resolution of 1680 / 1024 the camera is better if you get it to work :P and you have more choices. Also the item creation has become a lot easier.

It's worth the 20 bucks

Same here. As of 3th oct07, its still nowhere to be seen in my country.

I got the update and was excited to see the load screen mention it. But nope. DOn't think it wil reach here soon.

Do you think they removed the level cap in MotB like in KOTOR2?

They didn't. One of the features of the epic levels is that it has a max of 30, with a few epic feats and such.

Got it on Friday I think, luckily I did not have any problems with installing or playing it. So I played it through the weekend, but I have to play through it several times again, just to make sure I did not leave anything out.

Jusrt brought it today, and boy is it a bit more fun. The new classes are cool, loads more spells and feats. I'm playing as a Favoured Soul/Sorcerer/RDD at the moment. May get some more stuff. Also, the story is even better, and battles more chaoctic.

Might be me but anyone else experienced an increase in performance with this expansion? I know they said about improving things but I've actually increased my resolution with two increments (went from 1024-768 to 1480-1024) and it still runs great. The camera took some adjusting but it's an improvement.

Not in the old campaign I haven't. But I have noticed water refractions seem to run more smoothly. That used to cause ridiculous performance drops, if I recall correctly.

I'm kinda regretting I wanted to play the old campaign first. Its unoriginal storyline and shameless plagiarisms are already getting badly on my nerves.

At least I have an interesting build this time. A fighter(High BAB)/bard(RDD req.)/RDD(Charisma & bonuses)/Blackguard(2 levels for charisma based saves). Another munchkin build really. I kinda got the idea to exploit Charisma saves from the NWN1 Exalted Sorceress build.

I just have to bear with the painful plot for a month or so, until I can get started with MotB. Hm, maybe had I figured out my build earlier I would have had some use for pre-ordering it.

Huh? THe Original Campaign? Point out everything you didn't like, cause I enjoyed it....I'll be getting MotB on Tuesday October 10th (maybe) I pre-ordered it in like august just cause I didn't want to worry about watching out for Release Date changes like what happened when NWN2 first came out

FINALLY. The game has been released in my couuntry. Have bought it but yet to install (Exams, sigh). Got a question, is it as buggy as the core game?
Will I need to save tonnes of times just to make sure its bugs don't spoil the game?

According to the reviews and the Bioware forums, the expansion is loaded with bugs - people are saying save early and often, you'll probably need earlier saves at some point.

I want this game... but is anyone gonna wait awhile like me before buying it? I think reading that news bit about the autopatcher overwriting CD keys sorta made up my mind for me. Obsidian really needs to get its act together. If a game is a pain just to get it running, the experience is already a little bit soured for me.
