... sorry for multiple questions + those that belongs in the mod sticky
I did not want to hijack the board and I'm not sure if many read the mod sticky as to answer questions.

1) We had severe game crashing problems ?
I'm talking, right when I load a save game to 30min into the game ... maybe 3-5 crashes
Plus, Mournhold Expanded seems to really tax my computer ... character seems a bit jerky as do NPC's moving in the distance ... even going from one area to another is not smooth
I'm guessing a memory issue.
I have 1gb DDR2 @ 533mhz RAM ... card is X800XL 256mb ... 2gb cache ?
No idea what's most important.
How the mods chew up which memory/where the "loading screen" is stored etc ...

So, I had to start over.
Uninstalled Clothiers of Vvardenfel + several clothing mods ... free up about 300mb

Is it my RAM or card ?
I know it's not a great computer, but Oblivion will be my most taxing game ... my specs are right on the reccomended listing
So, I will have to add RAM at some point ... cheaper than a new video card
Not sure how to handle this issue ?

2) Installed "dodge" mod.
Trying going unarmorered.
I get the master file warning/error message.

Should I still use it ?
Or, what Sanctuary total on enchanted items would compensate for not using the dodge mod ... believe it added 50pts ... is that 50pts of Sanctuary, or does "dodge" use a different computation

3)Any new race mods.
Especially "smaller races !
Downloaded Jenova's Child, Lyssia's Nymphs and a few more = all seem meduim to tall
I'm using Maedow Fae ... I know Galraen will love this: "the darn moss on her body parts is bugging me to no end" :)
I'm at the point where I refuse to look at her ... I might start over; again
I even e-mailed the mod creator ... see if I could remove the moss = no reply :(
I use a sexy robe and moss looks horrible ... green moss showing through a seductress daedric robe; not pleasing to the eye

I'm using Kumiko/Ninja Girl mod = going the Tong route this game
The Meadow Fae race is the only short race I can find ... otherwise I actually look at Kumiko's hair OR over her head ... yes, she's that short

I know it's inappropriate to put a mod question here, but I'm not sure if anyone checks the sticky for questions.
If you know a small race, could you just add it to the mod sticky; thanks.

4) Any new/good quest mods.
Have all the best in the sticky.
Looked over those at Morrowind Summit = too many to download :)
Any new ones you have tried, just not added to the mod sticky ?
If so, could you just add them to the mod sticky; thanks.

I actually found that I do better with smaller races = aim of my bow at center mass gives me a better chance of hitting while going backwards :)
To tall and I shoot high. Better line of sight with taller races, but that only works when the enemies are far away ... up close and personal, I do better with smaller characters
Not many small races ... plus found better clothes for female, so I'm using Meadow Fae ... only male Wood Elf is as small ? = does not look good in a dress :)
Wish they would create some smaller races(... thought Nmyphs were small people ... LOL)

Sorry to put these mod questions here, but I'm hoping to "get it right".
I'm still tinkering = I don't want to chew up quests unless I plan to follow to games end
Hope that makes sense ... don't want the game to become repetitive ... since my build options are limited, I'm not rushing things
Seeing what works for me and what doesn't.

I found some good mods and will add them to the mod sticky ... first I want to have a full play-through to evaluate them
As has been noted: " mods really make the game" ... looking for that perfect mix without causing a computer meltdown :)

If the mod questions belong in the mod sticky, can you move + answer them there ?

Thanks,
Joe

Unless you're having similar problems running other programs, it's got to be one or more of the mods you're using. Try running without any mods, if the bugs happen then, then try re-installing the game. If the problem doesn't reoccur then it's a matter of detective work to find out which mod, or even worse, combination of mods is causing the problem.

PS Your rig is at least as good as mine, if your pc works fine on any other program, it's nothing to do with the hardware, you've got far more than you need.

Defrag. The bigger the mod the more it might be scattered all over your hard drive.

No, only about 220 or so. I've seen several folks up on Elder Scrolls boast of running more than 300, and one has claimed to run 600+ simultaneously. Frankly I doubt the latter, but it's just possible.

Try Mythic Mods. It's an excellent meta site with subdirectories for mods, including links and descriptions. Most of it is regularly updated. :)

BlueSky - yes; you're evil :) ... after your PM, I installed many on your list
Galraen - it wasn't conclusive ? ... I went back and tried to find a single mod or a combo, but nothing seemed to work all the time ... sometimes crash early and often, or crash later ... I thought it migh be Mourhold Expanded(... will never remove this mod) = where the choppiness occurs ... but it crashed standing in Balmora with the same regularity
MageLord -you know how anal I am :) ... I defrag after every installion or program deletion
Fable - thanks ... added several race mods ... most were old and I got the master file error/warning mesage = so I unchecked them ... two were medium height races ... could not find a new/no error message small race

Guess we keep Meadow Fae.
She looks so darn assassin-like ... red hair/yellow glowing eyes/purple lips and pointy red wings ... added to the Daedric Seductress robe and she looks the part :)
I just don't put her into 3rd person or look below her neck (LOL) ... no idea why the mod creator had to put moss(?) on her body parts ... totally ruins the use of any sexy/feminine robes etc ...
I refuse to put her in a burlap sack or tank-like armor.

So, I just don't look at her when I play her = a shame
As a companion, well, someone was very nice and armored some clothing = so she can keep her fairy look

Since I'm using Kumiko/Nija Girl companion(... ties into the Morag Tong quests), we have to use Meadow Fae, otherwise you don't even know you have a companion(.. look right over her head with medium-tall characters)

Maybe Morrowind Summit will add a few new races = seems they are always adding something

I just unchecked COV and all my clothing mods + dodge ... some others that had the master file error/warning message
So far; so good ... be we haven't been to Mournhold yet

Since I'm going unarmored(... Seductress Robe = see through), I can only use 2-rings,1-amulet and 1-belt for enchanting.
Going to try and squeeze in the tips given:
1) restore health ... not sure how much
2) sanctuary ... no clue what it does = so I'm making many different amounts and picking fights ... believe one sign had 50pts for 60sec once a day = guess 50pts is alot ... working backwards from that level
3) restore fatigue
4) restore some attributes ? ... if I have room

Thanks for all the help.
Galraen, your bow is a godsend ... I tweaked it to a BlindingSpeed Bow = the boots are too quick for me = I've jumped/run into lava and off cliffs :) ... speed at 100 is plenty fast

Don't overlook the value of exquisite shirts and pants when it comes to enchanting.

Did you try playing and visiting the problem areas with just Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon running, and with no mods?

Galraen - the robe is mostly see through mid front/back.
Shirt and pants would look wierd.
I could do shoes, but she looks better in black boots.
Trying to get a appropriate look.

No, I just went from where the problem started ... mods(.. I keep a listing) + areas
First playthrough with no mods just caused the normal crashing ... when one plays for 6hrs :)

The crashing seemed to lessen the more I played ?
But, it still occured.
Maybe I added mods during the game ... don't remember
I'm always adding to my folder = I might have installed some

This playthrough will be from scratch = no additions

I will re-add them next playthrough from the start = see what happens

After my NTFS meltdown and now this crashing problem = I'm leary
You know me and tech or me and Construction Set = must be bad juju or voodoo :)
