Beyond the Dwarven Dungeons

Has anybody played through sufficiently to notice how much of the total game is actually spent against poorly defined dungeon backgrounds? I was thinking how misleading the boxed art is, when it provides almost Bioware-like outdoors backgrounds that you leave after playing for an hour or so. The Dwarven Dungeons are a terrible letdown, but I'm curious if things improve, later--and for how long.

You'll be happy to know that yes, you do get out....after 4 long levels of it.
Then you get to zip around Myth Drannor proper for awhile (oh so short), then it's back to the dungeons for a few more levels.. then you're at the Castle, and the game's over.

Sounds remarkably exciting. And yes, I mean the opposite.
