Unusual self imposed limitations

Having read with interest the thread in BG2 concerning the putting of unusual limitations on yourself when playing, I was wondering if others had done the same in this game.
I read with interest the thread of Klorox concerning playing with no reloads.
I have played a non-violent game, i.e. not killing anyone and a no-weapons game. Has anyone played with other self-imposed limitations. It would be interesting to hear from you

I never use backstabbing cos I think it makes the game ridiculously easy.

Hmm this is a limitation imposed on be by BG2 but I travel with Minsc Jaheira Imoen and Khalid. Another good limitation would be to play without ranged weapons. currently Imoen has about 90% of the parties' kills.

No use of thieving skills and no potions. Gave me a tough on Demogorgon and Mellissan, but it's no problem with decent gear.

Hmm... actually, towards end game you never really use potions that much. You don't need them as you probably rely on resurrection or heal.

I am surprised that nobody has come up with having a multi-class character and only using the abilities of one of them. e.g. having a thief/mage and only using the thief or the mage abilities, not both. That would certainly make the game considerably more difficult particularly when playing solo and might make it a challenge for those who now find the game too easy.

My one trip through the game, I rested only once a day, and only at night. This adds a tactical dimension to the game. But mostly, resting every five minutes after using up a handful of spells always feels too gamey to me, which takes me out of the escapism effect that I'm trying for. Recognizing the day-night dynamic makes the gameworld feel more alive to me, somehow.

And I never used wands, potions, or other consumable items. I kept saving them for the really hard battles. Then I'd forget about them. Then the game was over.

I would sometimes play a character and NEVER steal or loot anything from containers (unless necessary) Of course the character was either a cleric or paladin :D They were the ultimate goody-two-shoes...
