Slashing sword was useable now red: why

All Sabers were useable but now red , even merchants
Hi,
I was able to use sabers. Now they're all red, including one I had been using for a while. At the merchants, all the sabers are red. What did I do?
Thanks for any suggestions.

If you can't use a weapon, then the item description should list what requirements you're not meeting.
If you combined items together, you might have increased their level requirements. If you visited a soul patcher, you might have reduced your strength.
Those are the things I can think of off hand.

apply patch 1.6 perhaps helps
i noticed same when stacking items that the result sometimes
got too advanced for you and many other things too.
could be a bug.
it seems fixed in latest patch - have not seen it since.
it happened in 1.5
but i havent seen it in version 1.6 yet

On the same topic (although maybe this didn't happen to you) the bless spell raises strength and dexterity. Sometimes you change into some armor you loot only to have the requirements be too high for your base.
Same with items that grant a bonus.
