Hello

I have had the same weapons and armour for ages now and where ever i go there are none better in the shops. I dont think that my armour and weapons are particularly good, but I cant find any better. I was wondering if there are any good shops that sell advanced armour. (The shop in the Great Bazaar of Mournhold that sells adamantanium, ebony and glass is too expensive for me- i only have about 6k)

My current equipment is a dreugh helm, imperial dragonscale cuirass, imperial chain greaves, bonemold boots, pauldrens and vambraces, and a nordic claymore. The armour rating is about 36 and i favour medium armour and long blades.

Any help will be greatly apreciated.

PS. To get my dreugh helm I stole it from a shop. I then heard a voice say "You're finished!" but the shopkeeper didn't attack me. No-one did. Does this matter?

Thanks again

Are you on the PC? Do you have the memory to support mods? Because if so, there are some fantastic mods out there with great weapons and armor, priced appropriately. I can provide a few suggestions along these lines that I've personally enjoyed, if you're interested.

Mods are like plug-ins which add tweaks and new material to the game. Consider them micro-mini expansions :D . However, there are some that also add pretty decent quests to the original as well.

Look under the Mods sticky thread, at the top of the page, for an idea of the kinds of things mods can add to gameplay.

THe best meta list of mods I've seen is Mythic Mods. I would especially recommend checking out Telesphoros' List 'O Mods, a category under Mythic Mods.

If you want recommendations or advice about something you see and can't find it under our sticky thread above, then ask in this forum. :)

Cazza Fable - I had no clue about mods either.
But, the good folks here helped me; bigtime.

If you want the Planet Elder Scrolls site address PM me ... it's also here, run a forum search
If you would like me to write up a how to add mods tutorial, PM me.

Trust me, it's not that difficult ... once you download/install one, you are set

As for Medium Armor, there is a free set of Indoril Armor.
I found it by accident ... can find it again if you're interested
There is a catch ... if you want to know, I'll tell you
You can gain a helm + cuirass via a quest ... or easy ways to steal parts ... been awhile since I've done it ... I always use light armor ... I'll go find the spots if you're interested
Or, taunt a Ordinator and beat him = take his armor

You can steal a great longsword OR as you level up, hit the Daedric Shrines and defeat a Dremora or better and take his weapon.

There is a vault, part of a series of quests, that is simple to steal from ... you can take everything
If you prefer to know who to start the quests from; I'll tell you.
If you want a little cheat, I can tell you how to get in without getting the quest ... the quests are not hard ... more difficult finding the quest giver :)

Can always start out with Light Armor ?

Which ever peeks your interest, I'm glad to help.

Mods are just files that can make your morrowind experience fantastic... or horrible.
When you start getting mods be very careful when installing them on morrowind files, every single file must be in the right place.
Alltough this is easy process, Just Winzip / winrar reguired - The mod files will locate theirselves if you extract them correctly in morrowind data files.
There is endless tutorials and helping sites for morrowind mod installation, these forums are the closest ;)

Before getting mods be sure that the mod is clean (no unecessary things inside, sorry im bad at explaining this)

For further iformation ask fable and the more experienced players.

There is endless types of mods, from new towns, buildings, quests to new islands, landmasses, NPC's, weapons and armors ofcourse :)

I hope this little gave you some help.

One of the best mods I've found so far is one that makes the monsters spawned more unpredictable. You can even bump into the rare uber monster, and that can prove pretty difficult. Best of all, monsters no longer level up together with your PC.

joe05, where is that great longsword? because i use a nordic claymore, i get annoyed that i cant use a shield with it, so a longsword would be brilliant.

do you need the internet for mods? if so, i can't use them because i dont have the internet on the pc i use to play morrowind

There are many different artifacts (unique items) in morrowind, that are the single ones in the game. These arifacts have many different magic effects that are way better than just normal magic weapons. Most of them have their own look, so they're not even near of the normal weapons that you see in shops etc.

If you want to get a specific equipment it doesnt necessarily have to be a mod.
Just find out where these artifacts are, most of them are associated with a quest. So joining in guilds and different factions is a good way to start looking for them.
Some artifacts can be obtained trough a daedric prince ( the "evil" gods). When you find a daedric statue (mostly in daedric ruins) just check if you can talk with the statue, it may give you a guest.
There is anyway many artifacts that can be just found.

If you want to know the locations of some of these artifacts go check uesp
(The elderscrolls wiki) - there you can find every artifact in the game.
Or you can just Pm me, I know many of them as well as some other good items. ;)

Cazza Fable - "From North" brings up a great point: do some daedric shrine questing.
I beleive there are several enchanted longswords ... found a few ... not the Daedric Crescent
You can find the artifact book in the Mournhold Museum ... there is a link in this forum which notes all the artifacts + their locations ... sorry I can't help here, because I prefer to stumble upon them :)

To get some excellent longswords make "runs" through every Daedric Shrine.
I believe the good weapons start showing up once you hit Level 15.
The best is the Daderic dai-katana ... well, at least it's value is $120,000 (?)
You can clean it out ... I believe about 4 enemies per visit
Go do something and come back = 4 different enemies etc

There are 2 Daedric shrines over by Hla Oad .. I call it the race track :)
Way out there in the water.
Hit one; then the other ... reverse course and just keep fighting till you find a weapon you like
Good way to trap Golden Saints as well ... believe they appear around level 15 as well
The Dremora Lords seem to pop up around level 17(?)

Another good hunting spot is Indorayon ... NW of Sadith Mora
Easy pickings if you have a ranged attack ... Bow or Spells
You can make runs in front door; out the back = repeat

You can also hit the Hlaalu and Telvanni vaults.
Just did them ... found a Daedric Claymore and a Daedric Dai-Katana ... several Daedric Katana's

Have you started the Nevarine Prophecy quests ?
The Urshilaku(sp?) Camp/Sul-Mutul/Bonebiter Bow quest offers several nice goodies ... glass longsword with some damage enhancement + a Dreugh Cuirass
Search well :)

***** SPOILERS *****

Indorayon - the nut job is the master enchanter
You need to calm humanoid him if you want to get your enchanting skill to 100.
The experts have clever ways to up Enchanting ... Dragon Wench had a excellent way in a older post = it was a bit over my head = she's smart; I'm not :)

As for you basic enchantable weapons(... buy Grand Soul gems in Mournhold OR they seem to pop up around level 20 in fights/caverns etc) you can easily rob the Redoran treasury/vault.
After your post I did a few runs at it ... found a Daedric Longsword ... Ebony Longsword ... Ebony Broadsword

The experts can verify or correct me, but I believe you can change the vault contents if you don't like what you find = just get caught stealing and reload the prior save ?
I found different weapons each time.

To get the quest talk to the Kahjit in the Pelagiad Tavern ... one of several quests to be her "very special friend".

If you don't want to do the other quests, the key is upstairs in the Dralor mansion(?) ... have to steal it

If you have problems stealing it, I can give you some tips on stealing the key + looting the vault.

As for your Medium Armor.
I found the body ... NE of Maar Gan ... levitate to the stronghold Kogoruhn and you'll see a body on the roof ... the note of caution is; you cant wear the helmet/cuirass in the presence of other Ordinators ... they will attack you
You can also steal Indoril armor placed within Ghostgate.
I think someone sells pieces ... sorry I can't be more clear = just going off memory from my last play

Glass armor has a higher rating and is much lighter (?) ... but it's light armor = you can sell it
It can be stolen from Ghostgate.
You just need the Ring of Surroundings + Amulet of Shadows ... I think I had a Sneak of 35
If you want to go the Light Armor route ?

Sorry, I could not black out the text ... tried the wrap spoiler tags option
So, I just put SPOLIER in my post.

It reaches a point where it's not about the armour that's important, but rather the enchantments that one has imbued them with.
If I were you I'd look into capturing souls in soul gems and adding magical effects to armours and weapons.

I'm guessing you have Morrowind GOTY, so just get a full suit of Daedric armor. There are two ways to do this. One, kill Divyath Fyr (however, if you haven't finished the main quest, this will thwart it). The other method is much longer. Look at the Morrowind walkthrough here on GB and it will tell you where to get the armor.
