Let's consider that this game has no bugs at all. Ok, I'll wait for you to compose yourself....

Now, I've played the old PoR, Azure Bonds, Silver Streams, etc, etc, etc... and I thought they were great. But with the advent of the infinity engine, I haven't been able to get into another set of CRPG's since the release of Baldur's Gate. In that time, I've tried Diablo's, fallout, Arcanum, and others but I just get bored because they don't flow as well as the BG/IWD series of games.

So, I'd like to get some opinions of those of you who have maybe played both. I'm trying to decide if I should buy the game or not. Let's leave the technical difficulties aside for now, I'll review those problems later. thanks for posting.

First off, it's the slowest moving RPG ever. Waiting for 4 zombies to walk to your party is grueling. I like turn-based combat, but SHEESH!
If you don't have a rogue and a cleric in your start party, you're screwed....as I found out the hard way...no cleric=lots and lots of death with no way back to the living.
I enjoy the game, but the speed should be variable and there should be somewhere to either resurrect your dead or trade them in for new characters.
Not sure what the next patch addresses, but hopefully it will be these two issues. (yeah right!)

i agree that the pace of the combat is pretty slow, there shouldn't been an option for speeding enemy movement up.

there should also have been an option for turning up brightness and gamma rather than us having to tweak monitor controls.

as for no rogues and clerics being impossible, that's wrong. if u don't have clerics, just rest often. a little unrealistic but it nevertheless works. without a rogue to pick locks, u can always smash them with weapons or fireball, but u just waste the experience that comes with lockpicking. then wadaya mean no resurrection? by going back to Beriand, u'll get resurrected. same goes for the Thirsty Ground later in the game.

one problem with this that i'm annoyed with is the actual item selection interface. it's pretty cumbersome to have to go through 4 menus just to use a wand. and then there's a problem with targeting creatures or locations that are blocked by other creatures or PCs. kinda frustrating when your characters move to the wrong problem or worse... flings a fireball at the wrong target.
