Trying to make a Melee Cleric/Diplomat

I decided to dust off the OC and give it another go (never quite finished it the first time) before hitting the x-pack and as the topic states, I'm interested in a melee-focused cleric with good diplomacy skills.
Well, truth be told, I have everything figured out except a few minor stat tweaks. Now I probably am min/maxing a bit, but def. not power-playing.
What I have is:
Str: 14
Dex: 10
Con: 10
Int: 10
Wis: 16
Cha: 16
I'm just wondering if I should have a higher strength and/or Int (for points) or should this be enough to carry me until I can level them to 16/12-ish?
tyia
EDIT: This will be for a single-class cleric only.

Have you considered adjusting your race?
As a drow you would get +2 int, +2char and +2dex. This way you would start out with way better stats and more skill points at your disposal.
Another thing you might try is to play a favored soul instead. They get the same spells as clerics but cast them like a sorcerer. They use charisma to determine their spells per day however, so you could focus more on charisma to get even better diplomatic skills. Wisdom only improves your spell DC. They also get free feats for their deity's favored weapon, which will improve your melee skills.
With a drow favored soul you could start out with something like
str:14 dex:10 con:10 int:16 wis:14 cha:18 stats
I played a char like this recently. Just take all the feats that support your deity's favored weapon, then spell penetration and greater spell penetration.
Focus mainly only Great Wisdom once you reach Epic levels to increase your spell DC. Or if that doesn't interest you, pick up Great Strength to improve your melee capability. You should also put the regular stat points you receive above level 20 either into STR or WIS, as you will have more than enough spells per day by then.
Equipment you should look out for is definitely a good strength belt, +8 in classic NWN2, +10 in MotB later. Concerning spell choices be sure to pick up all the buff and self-buff spells. Especially Divine Power which practically makes you a fighter for the duration of the spells and also gives you +6 to strength which can be very handy in the beginning when you don't have a decent strength belt. Apart from that, pick whatever you like.
I hope I could help a little.

Don't forget that drow also get a -2 to charisma. So that will limit his diplomacy and other speechcraft skills.

drow actually get +2 char. its -2 con. Drow is a great race aside from the level penalty. Also if you take Favored soul the problem is the DC is based on Charisma but the casting level (level of spells you can cast) is based on Wisdom. So you need to split between high wisdom and charisma. Tough to think about melee stats on top of that. A drow would be a good race to try it because you have so many stat bonus

It's the other way around
Favored Souls use charisma for bonus spell determination and wisdom to determine the DC for your spells, as I explained above. That's why you take a couple of Great Wisdoms after lvl 20. Melee prowess shouldn't be an issue because of +8/+10 str belts.

I'm actually trying a melee cleric in the OC myself. I've gone with a plain old moon elf Str14 Dex10 Con12 Int12 Wis16 Cha14, and so far I've gotten to 8th level (Wis is now 18). He has weapon specialization (longsword) and the craft wondrous items feats, so he'll be making Nymph Cloaks as level and materials allow. The 12 Int might seem a waste, but it gives me a third skill point which I devote to Concentration, Diplomacy, and then split between Craft Alchemy and Spellcraft. I usually like a high Lore skill, but I've made up for it with the Knowledge Domain (get Identify as level 1 spell). I also picked up the Air Domain, and the Call Lightning spell has been handy too, though I suppose that takes things away from melee fighting.
How's yours coming along?
