Golem sephirat (spoiler)

Hello. I wonder how I activate the golem in the swamp near the mysterious tower. It holds the ninth sephiat. you must defeat it. But how defeat it when it is not working??? I noticed that I can put something into the golem (golem heart???) so I suppose I am missing something. I know I need to lure my enemy to the tower so it is obviously a must to get into it.

Thankful for response.

I know there is three pylons by the golem. But I can only get two of them working. When touching the third one (no matter wich one, as it seems) the other two goes out. I have tried several versions of touching them (A-B-C, A-C-B...etc) with no effect.

I just beat the golem myself, and I was never able to figure out what the pillars are for. I actually asked that in my own thread just earlier today.

To awaken it you need to speak to a bunch of people. Chiefly Kalkstein. He (or someone) tells you to get two books, yes? I think you talk to the Antiquary in town and the old man Gramps in the swamp. I think maybe somewhere in this quest you have to talk to Vaska (old woman in the swamp) too, but I don't remember. So if you're stuck try talking to all these people. Any time you learn new information you should go back and talk to Kalkstein. He will eventually tell you what you need to wake up the golem, and this item you will get from someone in town.

got it now. This is how I did (for those after me that wonder):

first I spoke with Vaska (leader of Brickmakers in the swamp). She gave me a card. After her I went to Kalkstein who interpretid the card telling me I needed a lightning rod. I then went to the dwarven blacksmith that made the rod. After that it was off to the swamp again. Here there is two ways to go. Either ask of help from the druids (to create a thunderstorm) or wait for worse weather. As it happened to be there was a thunderstorm when I arrived making the revitalizing of the golem much easier. Then there was to fight it. But that´s another story...

For reference for anyone who's reading this thread and wondering what the pylons are for:

When you activate all three pylons a lighting strike will hit anyone (or anything) within the triangle formed by said pylons. So, after trying to kill the golem by fighting it (and failing miserably) I figured out that if you activate two of the pylons, then lure the golem within the circle and activate the third pylon, you'll electrocute it (and yourself if you're within the triangle) Do this three times and it should kill it.

I believe Kalkstien will tell you this little secret, but it's hidden within the depths of The Witcher's poor dialog. I figured it out by accident.

Ah, OK, thanks. I thought it was pretty obvious that you were supposed to use lightning to kill the golem, it says it in the bestiary entry on the golem, I think. I just wasn't smart enough to think to stand outside the triangle before using it ;)
I have to say I found the fight with the golem pretty easy. He was very slow, and as long as I kept whacking him he didn't fight back very much. So I just alternated using igni and hitting him on the head with my sword, and eventually he went down.

I found out about this via a game guide. I used brute force first to take down the golem. Then I reloaded and used the pylons after reading the game guide. :p

I couldn't kill the thing using force... I was only ever able to take off a bit of damage, then it seemed to just shrug off damage.

It's strange... you bring the thing to life via lightning... and then you kill it using lightning? Seems a little odd, especially since it's stone.

Well, I actually used a combination of both Fire and ordinary attacks but it did take a while to bring it down.

Probably when it was struck by lightning, it must have hurt like hell. Just my suspicion, though. ;)

Well, think Frankensteins Monster- he was awaken due to lightning but I doubt he'd be immune after that.
Otherwise think like an on/off switch if that helps with the imagination :)

So did I - I used a Tawny potion (I think it is called, the one that increases Endurance regen) and then used the Fire sign as often as I could, and while it took a while, I did manage to take it down "safely" enough with some moving in/out and hitting with steel sword and fire sign.

Ugh, I should have read this thread before. I killed the golem using melee attacks, but it took about ten minutes to get the job done.

i cant get the freakin rod! the blacksmith wont make it for me without his reccomendation. Guige says Zoltan will give it me after some quests...im well past them but he still wont come up in teh dialogue options!

any suggestions for what i might have missed?

Its ever so slightly annoying that you have to complete certain other quests before others activate...its very interwoven which is good i guess, but i completed so many quests im stuck now with nothing to do until i get the rod!

There's a quest where you have to deliver a message from the druids to Vivaldi. Have you done that yet? I can't think of anything else offhand that involves the dwarves.

That dwarven blacksmith is buggy. Sometimes he accepts, sometimes he doesn't. It happened to me a few times already even though I got Zoltan's recommendation's (and that is in Chapter 2). In the end, I just gave up and went to the Order blacksmith instead.

I'm not getting the "triangle" referred to here in this thread.

I've tried doing the third pylon when the golem was in the middle of the three pylons and then with me (a) inside as well, (b) outside, (c) with the golem right on top of me and I've died all three times with the lightning (triggered by the third pylon) coming down and killing me instead of the golem.

OK, figured it out (SPOILER)

1. Trigger two of the pylons.
2. Click on the golem, put the lightning rod into his back
3. Immediately run to the third pylon and position yourself OUTSIDE of the pylon triangle (the outside of the pylon).
4. Wait until the golem is right in front of the pylon (BUT he must still be on the inside of the three sided pylon triangle.
5. Trigger the third pylon and the lightning rod in the golem will absorb the strike (if the golem is positioned correctly).
6. Immediately trigger the same pylon (after the lightning strike, all the pylons will go "out" and have to be reset).
7. Run to another pylon and trigger it (giving you two lit up pylons).
8. Repeat step #3-5
9. Repeat steps 6-8
10. The third lightning stike kills the golem.
