Going back to my roots - BG1 to BG2

Haven't seen this discussed. What are the advantages of playing through BG1 and poss ToTSC now that the character parameters for BG2 are known?
I decided to do it to see if there were some dual class stunts I could pull (in particular dualing to cleric before 25000 exps - the cap in BG2 make dualing to cleric not optimal as starting characters have too many xp).
The biggest up I've seen so far is that you can dual to a specialist mage.
Specific question. When you import to BG2 do you get to choose kits for dualed characters, and if so which half? Thanks in advance.
Any other goodies? - Curdis

Well, the advantages are basicly that you could pass the "normal" scores without the use of cheats, because of the books in BG I (there are none in BG II), if you played the TOSC ad-on you start at higher level that starting with a new made character.
If you dual in BG I, your character Class in BG II will be the same as in BG I.

When import a dualclassed character, you can choose a kit for the first class.

Xandax is right, you chosse for the first class.
I did BG1 and dualled a thief at level 5, only 10K expereince is needed. I now have a fighter who can suit up in armour and slog it out, or get stealthed up with thieving skill enhancement items and deliver an awesome backstab.
Plus he has strength 19
Other good options: Mage dualled at level to to Fighter - use wands, scrolls, a few low level spells etc.
Ddruid dualled at 5 to fighter - if you make the druid totemic in BG2 you get two totem animal summons.
Fighter or ranger dualled at 6 to cleric (although it could be worth going to 9 in BG2 for the extra specialisation).

I just recently went back to BG1 and tried an elven Ranger/Cleric Multi-class.
It was really fun and I loved both druid and cleric spell abilities.
I guess the best thing about going back to BG1 was the storyline. I found it much better than BG2. Don't get me wrong, I love BG2 and the storyline is great... It's just BG1's story was sooo much better
Plus I just had to do that Iron Throne Fight again!

Top floor with those seven baddies... too cool!
