quick question. i understand that the bracers of archery give +2 to thac0, but isnt a lower thac0 better? as in, your roll to hit would have to be higher with the bracers in order to hit

It's the roll to hit against the combined defense factors of the target: whomever scores higher, wins. So the bracers raise your chances of a hit by +2.
