were would i make a post about how much i like old games (what catagory)

It depends on what type of game it is.
If it is a game which doesn't have a forum dedicated to it, then either the RPG-Discussion for RPG games, Action RPG Discussion, MMORPG or Non-RPG Game Discussion which are general forums.
