How do you equip Jaheira?

She can go a lot of different ways.

I think most people slap a STR belt on her, and the best armor possible. After that, there's a lot of ways to go:

Do you go for a spear? Staff? Club & Shield? Dual Wielding (Belm is an awesome off-hand weapon and she can use it).

I'd love to hear some ideas.

This is my experience:

As soon as I get the first proficiency point, I spend it on Two-Weapon Fighting style. The second point also goes there.

The first weapon I give to her is a Staff Mace and a Shield of Reflection. The next is Belm, after that is Blackblood. She is a Sword-and-Shield fighter till the moment she gets her second profi point in dual-wielding. Then I arm her with Blackblood main and Belm off-hand. After that, the third proficiency point gained goes to Scimitars, at which point I usually have obtained Spectral Brand and have first HLA. HLAs are focused on the fighter pool, especially Critical Strikes. So after that the standard armament for Jaheira is Spectral Brand main-handed and Belm off. If you're in need of more AC for her, use Twinkle off-hand, yet this way the total number of attacks is reduced by 1 APR.

I give her the three-headed Flail of Ages, easily one of the best weapons you can get early in the game.

Belm is great for an offhander if you have short swords as a skill, because the extra attack comes from that. If you don't, I would think Arbane's Sword would be a lot better, because of the constant immunity to Hold that it grants to its wielder.

I guess you are under some mods, Fable, because in a standard game there are weapon restrictions for Fighter/Druids. She may use Spears, Daggers, Scimitars, Slings, Clubs and Staves, but that's about it. No Swords, no Flails, no Warhammers.

Belm is a scimitar. You're probably thinking of Kundane, which is a shortsword with the same ability, although it deals less damage than Belm.

If you use the Items Upgrade mod, then you might wanna assemble a special club for Jaheira. I think it involved Gnasher, Blackblood and 15 000 gold in order to be made. It was a +4 club which deals +4 additional damage per 4 rounds after successful strike(much like original Gnasher, only +4)

If you install the Improved Illyich from Tactics, then after killing Illyich, you'll get a perfect starting weapon for Jaheira, a club +3.

Damn: yes, I am. Forgot that. Thanks! Using the G3 Tweak Mod, that offers an option to remove all weapons restrictions as unrealistic. Which I happen to think they are.

In a plain vanilla game, as I recall, I used to give it to Viconia. That, and the strength girdle. Jaheira got the clubs and elemental staves. Those elemental staves are often neglected, but they can be very useful in an SoA party.

Was working towards that, in fact. This is my first run-through with all those weapons-enhancing mods and extra weapons merchants (not the BIS ones), though I've been pretty disappointed in the latter.

The elemental staves are priceless for a solo Warrior character, since they can be used to summon quite an elemental horde. And they're recharged via sell/rebuy. Also, the Fire Staff is extremely useful to a fighter, because of the FireShield option. But I'd rather use those for their activated abilities, and certainly not in melee. Even against elementals.

Agreed. I tended to keep Jaheira behind the lines, too, when directly employing the elemental staves--not weapons to put her up front up with. But as background support, those summons can really help out a relatively young party much more than the Monster Summoning I wand (which still has its uses as cannon fodder).
