Equaliser and other 'forged' weapons *spoiler*

Does anyone else agree that they should have perhaps placed the pieces to the equaliser in some other place besides the underdark? My reason for this is by the time you come back from the underdark, your in chapter 6 already. It'd be nice if they could be found in places like the Druid grove, a piece with Firkraag and a piece with someone else. It'd just make more sense. And the forged weapons aren't that powerful, considering you can get a much better katanna early in the game.
Well, it's my thought on things anyhow.

Well, Crom Faeyr is pretty nice, esspecially the "kills Ettins with one blow" stat, you meet a stunning number of...ONE in the game...but the rest(Str 25, Kills Trolls, Golems...)is nice...

Equaliser, Crom Faer, particularly Black Razor are all late in the game.
Make the game pretty easy if you have them early in the game. I found that Equaliser was hardly worth the trouble - there are lots of swords I would rather have.

The wave blade is possibly the hardest to obtain (that or Crom Fayer) i have only ever glanced someone else using it, can anyone remember it's stats?

The Crom Faeyr is good
Btw,if you did the paladin stronghold, you'll get to fight a total of 2 etins in the entire game

I think it's good that the really powerful items come later in the game, because they would unbalance things otherwise. Carsomyr, I would argue, comes too early. Now, having said that I'd add that the equalizer is a pretty lousy weapon considering how hard it is to obtain. And as for Black Razor, well, I think it comes way too late. It's up there with Carsomyr and Crom Faeyr as the best weapons in the game. We should be given at least a little time to savor it. I think the placement of Crom Faeyr is perfect: it's so powerful that it shouldn't come to early, but it's a wonderful item to have just in time to fight all those damnable golems you encounter late in the game.
I think that clerics actually have the best progression of weapons. You can start out with some pretty good maces and work your way up to hammer of thunderbolts and then Crom Faeyr.

Equalizer sucks? I was thinking that +3thaco/+6dmg is pretty good, since half the time the stuff you are hacking is evil or undead. +2thaco/+4dmg isn't bad for the rest, plus you get the immunities.
There are a couple of blades that are better, but is it really that bad?

Not really bad, but I prefer Daystar. Very powerful against undead and wicked against Vamps.

You put Equaliser against Celestial Fury and theres no hope for it. I would have liked to get equaliser earlier on. I just dislike coming out at chapter 6 and having every single weapon to forge at once. They could have broken it up a little, hence my reasoning as to why they should have put pieces in chapter two places like Firkraag etc etc.
Crom Faeyr, the wave, and vorpal sword should all stay the same places, but gesen bow and equaliser should be more accessible earlier on.
Just how I see things...

Want to witness power?
Import a character with Black Razor into a multiplayer game and then go through the entire game.
Now THAT is a weapon

Look Crom Faer is based on a real normal AD&D weapon that is made like Crom Faer (must get those parts and know the weapon real name [like in the game] to make one), so Bioware decided to keep the ettin killing thing, for realism.
Even Carsomyr is a "normal" holy avanger swoard.

Equaliser does not work on Kangaxx's Demi-Lich form(at least not in my game.My PC kept saying "not even a scratch").Can anyone confirm this?

I had a swashbuckler dualing long swords, which is pretty damn effective actually. I spent all this time waiting to get the equalizer (using Blade of Roses and Daystar most of the time), and was really disappointed when I got it. I didn't notice it being appreciably better than blade of roses either to hit or with damage. The immunities are nice, so I kept it, but then again (in my case) he was rarely targeted for spells covered by the immunities. Wish I'd spent the money whoring at the CC.

The equalizer really sucks. It is a +3 weapon. It gives you no thac0/damage bonus against TNs. MANY dangerous enemies are TNs, for example golems. It gives you +1 thac0 and +2 damage against LNs and CNs. Again, a lot of monsters are LNs or CNs.
The Wave: halberd +4, 15% chance to drain additional 15 HP. In the other words, halberd +4 with +2 HP additional damage. You have much better halberd from the Underdark. The Wave sucks as well.

That is because it is considered a +3 weapon only.
I really like the Dragons Breath +4 Halberd with additionally +1 damage for fire, acid, cold, posion and electrial

I used ShadowKeeper to give my evil guy Blackrazor at the beginning of the game. I really wasn't impressed. I know there's only a small percent chance of Blackrazor's special level draining abilities activating, but I found that I was rarely causing much damage with it.
My personal favorite weapons are Carsomyr and Celestial Fury.

Yes only five types of Bastard swords in the game but since I am using a F/M and I dont like the way the katanas look on the game, I use the Blade of Searing, its usefull.
