Loading PoR after Installation

I purchased PoR today and did a Full installation with no problems. However after the insallation I put in Cd2 and try to start the game. When I click on the icon to start the game with Cd2 in the D: drive the screen shows the pool of radiance screen in the center then switches to the upper left hand side and then the whole screen just goes blank!!!
So I check out the pool of radiance forum site (as suggested by Buck) regarding the safedisc issue. Now from my description of what happen is it a safediskl issue that is causing the game not to load after installation?

One other challange is that after I downloaded the daemon-tools and the brennmeister files as suggested and installed them I was not able to get further with those programs. What I mean is that I started clone CD as suggested and then read image on Cd2, but the program would not read the cd2 in the drive. I also try to check the rest of the pool of radiance forum topics but it denied me access repeatedly.

Any suggestions on what I could do next so I could get this program started? As I said I was able to do a complete installation of the two CD's with no apparent problems though I did notice that they were installing in the E: drive and the cd drive is normally d:. I tried changing the drive to D; during installation but it gave me an error when i pressed okay so i changed it back to e:.

Meanwhile I'll take a break and try to tackle this problem later.

Well my room mate got pool of radiance working again yesterday. I asked him how he did it, but I'm still not clear on exactly what he did to fix the problem. He just mentioned that he closed down some programs in the background such as realplayer and Norton Utilities. And then he put in cd1 from pool of radiance, and hit the mouse button over "play" the machine then asked for cd2 next, and he put in cd2 and then activated the cd2 by clicking on the icon of pool of radiance, it worked when he did this.

Maybe the graphics card just needed to be set correctly or he had downloaded the latest drivers before he could get pool of radiance running again, I'm not sure, but at least it works now. :)
