Question about joining the Neverwinter Nine (Spoiler)

Lord Nasher has asked me if I'd like to join the Neverwinter Nine, but if I accept, does that force my character to level up with the Neverwinter Nine-class (you know, getting the first level or something like that), or can I just accept and don't give a crap afterwards?

I've checked the walkthrough, but it was vague enough to tell me that I might be invited, not anything about what accepting would do to the character's class(es).

I thought that accepting that invitation just gave you the feat "Neverwinter Nine" in your feat list, meaning you now meet the prerequisite for selecting that prestige class. Can't you save prior to the conversation and just try it out? I remember getting the "Shadow Thief of Amn" feat thing without being forced to actually level or take the prestige class later on.

You are NOT forced to take a Level of NW9.

YOu only gain the possibility to do so.

@ Ningengirai: I did save before the conversation. What I meant was if my character was forced to level up in the Neverwinter Nine class the next time I had enough experience to level up (not like with Khelgar, who automatically becomes a monk if you allow him).

Anyways, I got my question answered. Thank you both. :)
