Quick question about paches

After a long hiatus of not playing this wonderful game (mostly due to not having my disks anymore :( ) I decided to purchase "Baldur's Gate 2 the Collection", but I have one question, can anyone tell me if the collection comes fully patched or not, and if it doesn't is there a particular order in which I should patch the games?

example: Install SOA then patch, install TOB then patch.

Not sure how patched the game is, but the installing order would be this:
Install SoA -> install ToB -> install official ToB patch -> install Baldurdash patch.

That would probably cover the most things.

Install SoA, then ToB. Then check the version, found on one of the menu screens. It should be 26498. If not, then install the ToB 26498 patch, found here:

BioWare: BG II: Throne of Bhaal Patches

(Fyi, ToB automatically patches SoA. If you got ToB, then you shouldn't use a SoA patch.)

I have this same "Collection". If memory serves, the ToB install will result in version 26498. In fact, I remember seeing the 26498 patch on the ToB disk. I assume the ToB installation fires off this patch automatically.

Lastly, check out the Baldurdash fix previously mentioned.

Actually you may want to look into G3 fixpack, It's got everything Baldurdash has and more. It's critical you install either G3 (better) or Baldurdash, because they get rid of about 98% of the bugs not covered by the patch.

I checked out my ToB disk and your right, the 26498 patch is in there (although I think I may need to manualy install it).

Also I want to know is FixPack v1.12 the Baldurdash fix all of you have been recomending?

Edit: Are there any reasons to use the G3 Fix pack instead of Baldurdash or is just a matter of taste?

As Jedi_Sauraus mentions above, the G3 Fixpack includes more fixes than Baldurdash, so it should be better one.

This is where you can look at the basic info for the Gibberlings Three BG2 FixPack, and also has links for downloading, the forum, and the readme. It does contain a lot more fixes than the Baldurdash, which I always used when it first came out. Problem is, Domer stopped updating Baldurdash, so others came along and kept up the good work.

I would go so far as to state that anything the G3 crowd produces is excellent once past the initial testing release. The Fixpack is quality goods. I also recommend the G3 Tweak Pack, which you can read about here. Note that both mods are modular, meaning that you can choose which elements you wish to install, and which you wish to ignore.

I just installed the G3 fixpack and am up and running.

Kipi, CFM, Jedi, and Fable you all have my thanks!
