Technical Issue, help's appreciated!

Hey there, longtime reader, first time poster here.
I've just recently bought the four disc Baldur's Gate pack with BGI + exp. along with BGII and ToB in it, to once again spend a vast amount of hours playing these brilliant games.
However I'm stuck with a technical issue, more or less - you see, after having installed "Tales of the Sword Coast" I am unable to play BGI, as it keeps saying I need to have the "english" version of "Windows XP".
So, would anyone one of you guys perhaps be sitting on some valuable information regarding this? I'd be very grateful, as I would then be able to continue my adventures through Faerún on Dereth, my fighter. (Having a way to counter this problem without having to use the internets would be fantastic - as I've only got internet using my laptop while I'm really playing on my stationary computer. No cables between them either, so unable to transfer.)
