how do I beat the dragon at the end?

I'm facing the Palendral dragon. Spells don't work. No way I'm going to take it out with physical attacks--it's got far too many HP and kills my 16 level characters easily. How do I kill it?

I don't care about spoilers or whatever. Just tell me. By now this game has dragged on for ages (what an insanely tedious game!) and I just want to finish it so I can get this frustrating thing off my hard drive.

i just beat it. i have 3 fighters, 1 cleric, 1 sorcerer, and one thief. since magic does squat, i just hacked him apart. lost my thief but everyone else was fine. i imagine some protection spells would have been nice but i really didnt care to prolong the inevitable any longer.
