Beckett tailing you from the beginning

I was running behind that building between the beach and the pier where you witness that murder scene in Santa Monica, and in the horizon I witnessed a silhoutte of a large wolf running by.

Large wolf in Santa Monica? Could it be that Beckett is tailing you from the very beginning of the game?

Yes...

Why would Beckett be tailing you?

Although the fact that he is tailing you since the beginning changes my opinion on who sent those emails 'from a friend'. At first I didn't think that they could possibly be Beckett, since they appear prior to meeting him at the Sabbat warehouse.

But I guess it all makes sense. Why would Beckett be lurking around a Sabbat warehouse? He says it's coincidence, but surely a 'scientific' man such as himself doesn't believe in coincidence?

Indeed, why was Beckett in the warehouse? Museum makes perfect sense, but a second-rate to-be-destroyed warehouse full with Sabbat thugs?

Maybe he was already trailing the sarcophagus and suspected the increased Sabbat activities were connected. A warehouse would be a good starting point. But then maybe you saw him on the pier because he was trailing not you but the serial killing with the same background.

Couldn't that have been the serial killer who was simply admiring his kill from a distance? Gangrel do turn into werewolves afterall....

I think the killer had the same warform as player character. The ugly batface thingie. So the strongest wolfie candidate is Beckett, if not obviously him.

Beckett has a fascination for Thin Bloods, so that will probably be why he was at the pier. He also was checking for anything unusual around LA as he tells you at your first meeting, so that might be why he was around the warehouse in view of the sabbat activity there. Or maybe he got on your trail after seeing you around with the Thin Bloods (and maybe helping E out) and was curious about you.

Can't be that, cuz the wolf is there as soon as you enter the beach area (look at the rocks above the stairs to your left). Easy to miss, since the wolf takes off almost as soon as you show up.

Personally, I think it IS Beckett.

1. Beckett is the only character in the game with a "true" wolf form. The wolf on the beach is identical to the wolf at the warehouse.

2. At the warehouse, Beckett is hardly surprised to see you. Beckett is often cryptic or evasive, so there is little reason to expect that he would reveal that he had been watching you.

3. Why would Beckett be watching you? Because YOU have been sent to Santa Monica by the Prince, and Beckett already knows the Sarcophagus is on its way. Yes, I know Beckett's beach appearance is before the PC gets the Sarc quest...but from all the excitement about its arrival, it would appear that it has been anticipated for some time before you learn of it.

4. Beckett may already suspect LaCroix's motives with regard to the sarc, so he sends you those emails. As far as I am concerned, there are only two characters whose motives and personalities fit those emails...Beckett and Strauss.

Have anyone of you guys tried to bring the Remmington M700 SWAT from the console at that point, and beat the crap out of Beckett to see what happens?
