I have been playing SOA and TOB for the last 3 years and have decided that it is time to move on. I read through the threads on the different types of mods available and have a fair idea of which ones I want to try. What I want to confirm though is whether I should be aware of anything before or while installing the mods (like should Debug Mode=1 and the like...).
I dont think i will have to reinstall the game before adding the mods but please let me know if i am wrong.

1. you definitely want to save different files, so you are able to go back from where you startet, to avoid to reinstalling
I dont know exactly which files you need to save and which not, i once read a post about it but i cant find/remember properly ;(
so just simply copy the whole game ^^

2. some mods require a certain installation order to work together

thats what comes to my mind right now ^^

When you say save the game, do you mean save the entire contents or the ...\...\... SOA folder to a different location or the saved games?? sorry if i am being naive but want to be sure. I am planning on starting the game all over after installing the mods (want to find out how tough the improved Ilych is).
I think the "well balanced mods" and fables "i'm going to do it" threads have info on the order of installing the mods.

Also on a side note, would the tactics mod be too difficult to complete with the new NPCs like Saloufein/Valen/Kelsey.... or can it be done with my trusted carsomyr wielding paladin and other original NPCs? (will probably post a new thread on this soon...)

IMHO Kesley is "just" an Sorc so he is okay,

Sola is pretty strong since he is a Multi F/M with drow Mag resistance which makes him very potent, but he annoys me ^^

Valen is maybe the strongest Char i have ever seen, but you will get serious trouble with some people and when she reaches 3 Million xp you will see a quite fun but super hard battle

and yes i mean to copy the complet folder, you acually dont need everything but i dont know what you do not need so this is my advice

well you *could* beat the mod, but it is incredible hard sometimes, faldorn sometimes eg is maybe the hardest fight, suuper cheesy
