Stuck with Nalia - Spoiler

I`ve just rescued Nalia from Isea in the Government district and now I can`t equip her with any weapons.
I keep getting the message `Magical Weapon in Use`.
I`ve taken everything off of her and still I can`t equip her with a weapon.
Even a standard sword, with no magic, is refused.
Or her bow and arrows.
I`ve tried resting and it makes no difference. There`s no indication of a problem in her stats.
Looks like I might have to dump her, which would be a pity, cos she`s quite powerful at this point.
