Finishing MotB with Spirit-Eater turned off (by console command)? (spoilers)

Hi everyone, the spirit-eater meter was driving me mad and totally spoiling my enjoyment of the game, so I turned it off by the use of console. Now I wonder however, if it won't cause some problems in the campaign - like that furnace in the Death God's Vault that couldn't be opened without using the spirit power on the spirits inside. So will there be more situations where spirit-eating powers are NEEDED to advance the plot/solve quests? Thanks in advance for replies.

Mold Spirit/Malleate Spirit are Crafting uses of the curse. More specifically, usage of the Green Spirit Essences that you get from time to time.
Bestow Life Force: Heal your party with your Spirit Energy.
Devour Soul: Eat the souls of living creatures --- EVIL PATH
Spirit Gorge: Feed off of Multiple Spirits at one time --- EVIL PATH
And of course, you already know about Eternal Rest. Used on Undead, it replenishes your SE from undead. If you Kill with it, you get a Spirit Essence. Usually Brilliant.
Side note: When you first get the meter, head STRAIGHT TO THE THEATER!
As a safe place to rest, you won't be attacked.* Have Gann Summon the best Elemental he can (And everyone else with such power. Specifically, Summon Creature VII, VIII and IX). Use Supress on yourself.
Rinse and repeat from * until SM is at 100 and craving (the horizontal bar) is at 0. After this, when you rest, you lose 8 SE, but can regain 20 thru suppresion. THen you can Spam Eternal REst in the Vault or other places with Undead. You Only Get 10 uses of ER, tho, and it has QUITE the Cooldown time....

I've never played the game with the meter off, so this is just speculation, but my impression is that the spirit eater feats should still work. If you're concerned that they won't work, then just start up your game and try Suppress. If that still works then they should all work.
If the spirit eater feats don't work with the meter off, then there's also a command that resets your energy to 100, and so you can get around the meter that way, too.

To answer your original question, I think the Mold Spirit feat is used in a certain side quest later in the game. SPOILER
In the Academy of Binders, you get a cube which you have to figure out what to do with it. Cast Mold Spirit and you will solve the quest and obtain Malleate Spirit.
Another main quest that requires the spirit eater feats is when you
restore/devour the Treeman.
I think there are more, but I can't remember. So, the best option would be to play with the spirit bar and use cheats or the recommended methods to keep it full.

SPOILER -
You don't have to terminate the Spirit Eater totally if you don't want to deal with it.
The needed cheat codes are -
rs ka_se_points_set(100.0)
This will set your Spirit Meter to full.
rs ka_se_corruption(-5.0)
This will set your hunger to 0.
Another way is -
rs ka_se_feat_add_all
This will give you all SE feats.

Wow, thanks a LOT for all those neat tricks and tips that you gave me so quickly!

I've sure joined a great forum!
So I'll probably use those alternative console commands instead of totally turning the spirit-meter off. Thanks once again!

I'm totally confused about what the purpose of summoning the Elemental is...?

Suppress gives better results if there are elementals or fey spirits around.

Hmm, whats diff between spirit meter and hunger? Is it not enought to just set spirit meter to 100?

Hunger is generally the rate at which your spirit meter goes down. If you keep suppressing it, it goes down a bit more slowly. If you keep feeding your hunger then it goes down more quickly.
I think at hunger's max it's almost double the rate of decline (..when using the multi-devour spirit feat). (..there are few exceptions for the hungry character - like when sucking dry significant opponents, which max's the spirit meter level and keeps it that way for a bit of extra time.)
BUT, with some management (access to telthors for devour spirit and use of devour soul on most everything else), feeding your hunger works quite well.
The critical part is cutting down your victims health to *just* "Almost Dead" - but leaving as much health on that victim as possible in that "critical" state - and THEN using your appropriate spirit eater feat. That gives a much greater increase (upward level) to your spirit eater bar than simply devouring their spirit/soul at any time.
I've never tried a console cheat on the spirit meter bar; it's easy enough playing by the rules once you get the hang of it.

(..and most of the time I feed my character's hunger to the max.)
