How old do you think all of the major characters are?
I realize non-humans may be several hundred years old, but in relation to human years, how old do you think they are?

I think Keldorn is the oldest in relative age and Korgan, Jan next in relative age. Physical years I would have to say Aerie or Korgan with Haer'Dalis running close.

Aerie "seems" very young, but that could be as much a result of lengthy physical and mental abuse as anything else.

I would say Nalia is relatively youngest, though Aerie comes to close. I'm basing this on how naive both of them are, and what they state on dialogues and the fact that Nalia's aunt is still living and in very good health.

this is a hard question
i would guess
that nalia is about imoens, and big S of cuz
![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/)
and your age so 20 - 21
than minsk and annoymen with maybe 24
yoshimo, edwin, Valygar and Cernd are probably a bit older 27
okay now the half blooded
Hear'dalis and Jaheira, both half human
very hard i would estimate both around 50-60
and the long living once
Arie i would think she is relativly "young" maybe around 80-120
Korgan is an "aged" Warrior i would guess him on 250-350 years
Jan is probably a bit younger than korgan, 200-300 ?
Mazzy she will be more of the younger once around Jans age maybe a bit younger
Viconia will be aged too since elfes will live the longest she will be probably be around 300 - 400 years
but this are just my personal estimations, just based on D&D knowledge and the knowledge of the NPCs
just a reminder, it is an medieval setting so the humans are probably a bit "younger" than we expect and the dwarfs, gnomes, halfings and especially elfes will be older

it's a combination of the portraits plus the story - my opinion
jaheira - half-elf, old friend of Gorion, much older than PC
minsc - human - 25-40?
imoen - human - same age as PC
keldorn - human - age? 50-70 - think Sean Connery - Hawkwood, the mercenary captain was still fighting battles at that age.
nalia -human - betrothed should be as young as 12, but more likely 16-21 (betrothal usually happened at latest by puberty for first marriages in the 14 century i.e. the mediaeval period - children were betrothed for alliances and only married/consummated after puberty. first marriages were often at the age of 12-14. Nalia is a noble, so she would have been betrothed to Lord Toenail for some time by the time of the game)
Aerie - elf - probably similar age to jah, but may be older - life-span of elves much longer than humans. circus background and trauma over wings has made her seemed younger. lives can be many hundreds, so perhaps 100 years old?
Jan - gnome - quite an age - slightly younger than Keldorn proportionately, so older that Jah or Aerie
Anomen - human - looks late 20s, has a serious tone, father still alive, but not doddery, age less than 30 -entered career late
Valgyar - human - looks like Lennox Lewis the boxer - similar age to Anomen, but could be slightly older
Edwin - human - anywhere from 35-50
Mazzy - halfling - long life expectancy - not old for a hobbit - if hobbits get to 100+, then say 30-40?
Korgan - dwarf - always difficult to tell - they look old from a relatively young age
Viconia - drow - looks between Aerie and Jaheira in relative age.
hae'dalis - tiefling - fairly experiences plane traveller - perhaps a contemporary of Aerie, as uncle and h's boss are old friends.

According to the game, the PC is about 20, and Imoen is about the same. The rest is purely conjecture.
Minsc was on his dajemma (a rite of passage to manhood) when the PC met him, so he must be fairly young, possibly around 20.
I've always imagined Jaheira to about 40-50, giving her enough time to have adventured quite a bit but still young for a half-elf.
Aerie is considered a "child" by most people, but as she bitterly points out she is "probably older" than Jaheira. There is no telling how long she lived in her homeland before being captured by slave traders or how long she travelled with the circus before losing her wings. I would guess she's between 60-100.
Yoshimo is the brother of Tamoko, who was older than Sarevok, who is a few years older than the PC. Let's assume that Sarevok is about 25 and Tamoko was about 35. Yoshimo could be anywhere between 25 and 45.
Nalia is probably about 20. She probably started leaving the castle on her secret adventures when she was about 18 (I can't imagine her doing it when she was any younger), and two years was enough to establish her secret "career".
Hobbits live to be about 100, but according to Tolkien (I'm not sure about D&D) they are recognized as adults when they are 33. Mazzy has been adventuring long enough to be famous and have her own troop, so she must be at least 40. She was engaged to Patrick but not yet married, so she still must be fairly young.
Edwin is a well-educated, mature adult, so I agree that he is somewhere between 35 and 50.
Tieflings have about the same life expectancy as humans. I don't think Haer'Dalis is "old", but he does have more life experience than the PC, so I would guess that he's somewhere between 30-40.
According to the TOB epilogue, Keldorn died when he was 60, years after he had finished his adventures with the PC and retired. In BG2, he considers himself an "old Paladin" and he has a young teenage daughter. So I would guess that he's about 45-50, not "old" but definitely middle-aged.
I imagine Anomen to be about 25.
Valygar is probably about 30-35 (I'm just guessing).
Viconia is probably hundreds of years old.
Korgan is probably somewhere in the middle of his life.
Jan is considered a "young gnome" by at least one older gnome. I have no idea what that means.
Cernd -- Since hardly anyone else has mentioned him, who cares?

VonDondu hobbits are tolkien only
but you could say halfings are very similar to gnomes
and the life estimation is in d&d is like that
Human - halfbloods - halfings - gnomes - dwarfs - elfes
you still need to think this is medieval setting
so humans ~ 65
Halfbloods ( Halfelve, Thieflings etc.) ~ 120
Haflings ~ 300
Gnomes slightly more ~ 350
Dwarfs ~ 700
Elves, well i dont know too sure about forgotten realms but usually they dont die because they are too old, they could live several thousand years, but usually they when they get very old then go to journy and leave, probably seeking the eldarine or similar

Jan's grey hair makes ya think he's been around a while.
BTW, the fact that you should be close to Imoen's age IMO ruins playing an Elf, Dwarf, and Gnome.

AD&D second edition racial "OLD" (crotchety
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/)
) ages:
Dwarf:250 years
Elf: 350 years
Gnome: 200 years
Half-Elf: 125 years
Halfling: 100 years
Human: 90
Halve those ages to get a "middle aged" person in D&D...

For what it's worth, Gaider said at the Attic that Anomen was about 26-27.
Viconia mentions that she worshipped the Spider Queen "for an age and a half, longer than you have been alive" - so she must be above two hundred.
PC is twenty-one in BG2, since PC was twenty in BG1.
The rest is guesswork, though it's often hinted that Imoen is about the same age as the PC, and in ToB, she says so plainly to Jaheira.
With some mod characters(or mod-enhanced, via
BG1 NPC Project,
Kivan and
Xan), the age has been specified: Coran is around two hundred(he names the exact year) Kivan is about 225 and Xan is around two hundred and sixty(he, too, names the exact year). Saerileth from the Chosen of Mystra is fifteen.

He/she can't be that old, everyone calls you 'child'! If I were 20 and being called that I would be kickin some butt...

I totally don't remember the age being defined, nor do I remember it being said that SoA starts a year after BG1.

The introduction states that you are twenty.
"You have spent most of your 20 years within this keep's austere walls, under the tutelage of the sage Gorion."
