permanent silence?

hello
my character has been silenced and i cannot find any way of removing it. ive tried resting several times, a restoration spell, heal, wearing an amulet which gives vocalize, and even ctrl+R which usually fixes such things. any ideas, anyone?

Did you try dispel magic or remove curse, maybe even vocalize?
I recall that there is a pair of boots that prevents you from attacking or casting spells, however, I don't think that you can actually find it in game.

yes i tried both those spells, and vocalize can only be cast on the caster, so my ranger/cleric cant cast it. the silence came from betting with the demon using the deck of many things, if that makes any difference

Resting for twenty-four hours didn't help either?
If it does not work, then the only way to fix this is to reload and try to get a different draw or to try and edit your flags through Shadowkeeper.

thanks for your help so far, as i said resting didnt work - i tried again to double check. i tried using shadowkeeper, and compared the silence effect to an old save where my character wasnt silenced, but they were the same, which has left me absolutley stumped. i dont have a save till well before my present location, so any ohter ideas are welcome, unless i was using shadowkeeper wrongly?

For the Deck of many things - some effects are treated as curses, meaning the 4th level mage spell (clerics have this also) will fix it. I know you can get a strength curse from playing the cambion - at least that is a curse.
Did Aesgereth (the cambion) mention anything about "I hope you know how to deal with curses" or any other thing?
Seeing as how you already tried with Remove Curse, and the other spells do not work either, try Greater Restoration (7th level cleric spell) (note there is a difference between Minor Restoration (4th level) and Greater Restoraion (7th level)). If that doesn't work either, only option left would be shadow keeper I think.

Ahh thanks, Remove Curse is what I was looking for. Can't belive i didn't think of that, as i had indeed removed the strength curse with that spell.
