I've never seen reputation listed anywhere in IWD, but if you kill the Elf in the Inn in the Prologue, it says you get -4 Reputation.

What does that mean?

Reputation acts the same way it did in BG, except that no one chases you. Some people go hostile, but the main effect is in that the trade prices increase.

I wouldn't worry so much about the prices. I'd be more worried about people chasing you. If you get caught picking pockets in towns, or if you kill townspeople (excepting Orrick and his goblin, iirc), the other townspeople will fight you and won't talk to you. That means you won't be able to continue with the game if you make key NPCs hostile.

I believe reputation ranges from 1 to 20, were 20 is goodey goodey and 1 is evil incarnated, well not really, but you get the idea.

Your starting reputation is based on your party's alignment, not 100% sure on this one though.

The most important thing is that the reputation is hidden in IWD, which means you will have no idea what your reputation is, compared to BG2 which displayed the reputation number on the character screen.

There might be a console command to show the reputation of your party, but I don't know it, if it even exist.
