Hi there, i have a problem with playing IWD 2. I can install it, i can start it up, and i can create a party, but i can't play it! When all the partymembers are finished and i press "Done" i get to the loadingscreen (The "Starting game..." screen) and there the meter fills up, but when this is done the whole game lags up, and lateley (Since i got the 2.01 patch) the whole computor. It won't take any commands. I can't even ctrl + alt + del much less alt + shift or start-button...

I was able to play the game problem-free before i upgraded my computer a couple of years ago, it's still the same software (XP) but another hardware (Some MSI bs). Does anyone have any good ideas as to what the problem might be?

i occasionally get serious lags with this game too, a reboot seems to fix it for me.

however, it implies that there are some instruction sets in the game that don't play nice with certain processors/chipsets.

try upgrading the drivers for the chipsets your motherboard uses and see if that helps.

also, check the graphics settings. try setting them as if your computer wasn't as fast as it actually is (IOW, try turning the settings down a notch at a time to see if it will load).

also, try turning off the transparent spell effects and see if that helps.

you can do all of this in the configuration program (run it from the start menu tab for black isle/IWD2)
