Okay - so there have been a Black & White thread, so now I'll ask:

How many have played/are playing FO:T

I've just gotten it, and OMG, it is great.

I've just finished Fallout 1 (got an free OEM version recently) and was playing Fallout 2 again.
Then I bought FO:T and haven't stop played it except for work.

So who has it, and what do you think?

I've played demo version, but I'm disappointed so far - Still waiting for Fallout 3 ( I WANT RPG NOT STRATEGY !).

However I've played both Fallout 1 & 2.
Do you know something about programs to extract graphics, sounds, textures from Fallout files (like Infinity Explorer for Infinite engine games?) ?

I ask because I was thinking about doing some campaign for BG2 (maybe something like our party visit abondoned Vault 15 in 2090 on the Earth by passing through transplanar doors, I still think about main idea).

I love the tactic games also, so I'm very excited 'bout this game :D

Don't know anything about extracting the graphics, but it sounds like a cool idea.

(Just use Vault 13, instead of 15)

Thinking of vaults, in F1, vault 15 is full of rocks and caved in halls, but it F2 vault 15 is in good condition again??? :)

Everything could be possible - even Enclave main base. But firstly I have to find neccesary utilities. Then I will be able to develop this idea in practice.

So far (it is really easy) I know how to use Fallout's music in Infinity engine games (the same *.acm format - hovewer now I have also utility to converse normal waves into acms) - This music in The Glow is the best one. (I like also Enclave/The Followers of Apocalypse theme)

But unfortunately graphics (animations, areas, items etc.) files used in Fallout are not compatible with BG.

I haven't actually played the game yet but I'm very excited to do so. What I've heard about it is that it IS, for all intensive purposes, Fallout 3. It's called Fallout: Tactics only because it takes place between F1 & F2, so it's a pre-quel of a sort. Also, I think there's some deep marketing involved in calling it "Tactics" because they want it to be purchased by the legions of multiplayer folks out there and not just by the loyal Fallout RPG fans. I don't even know if we should expect a Fallout 3. Having read the FAQ on Interplay's site, it sounds like it's just like the old games, and not a strategy game at all. I think the whole "scenario" aspect of it is misleading people; you still do travel around the Wasteland except now they're calling the locations on the map "missions" or "scenarios" or something of the sort. The single player game is just like the old games in this respect; it's only in the multiplayer game that one has to choose a mission and play it like a C&C or Starcraft scenario. Please correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't confirmed this with my own eyes.

Well the game is nothing like Fallout 1 and 2, well okay, it is set in the same world with mostly the same rules.
But whereas Fallout 1+2 was adventure/RPG this is indeed a tactical game where you move a squad around in a combat setting.

I would compare the game somewhat to X-Com, Wages Of War, Jagged Alliacne and games like that.

IIRC then there are rumors about a F3 game also, but it has AFAIK not been announced yet.

I got this game thuesday, and have played all my spare time - and I've only played 3½ mission, restarted and played the first 3 missions again.

6½ missions in about 12-15 hours :D

Cool. I'm gonna make Fallot:T my new drug until ToB comes out. Have you tried multiplayer yet?

Haven't tried multiplayer.
I can't play (will not) over my internet at home (slow, expensive) and LAN has not been an option for me yet.

But it is something I'll play when getting a LAN up and running :D

Fallout Tactics is NOT Fallout 3. It's made by an entirely different staff (14 degrees east) and isn't even close to FO1 and FO2. That having been said, Fallout Tactics is still a great game (if a little simplistic for a strategy title). There was originally supposed to be a nice campaign/sprite editor with it but it was removed/never implemented due to time and budget restraints. Who knows, in the future they might release a patch that contains the missing editor (or more likely someone will hack the game). Multiplayer in Fallout Tactics is a kick. Gaming sessions are short but fun, without too much thought. You actually have to put more effort into character designing rather then battlefield tactics in order to win, but I digress…

I noticed a little taunt in FO:T that sounds like one you hear in BG2:

"Weapon meet enemy, enemy meet weapon" :D - sounds familiar

I have just started playing this game, and it seems really good. Unfortunately the game is not running very fast. Also, the only resolution option available is 1024x760, and I would like to lower the resolution.

Any tips on improving performance?

You can play in 800*600 and 1024*768 in 16 bit or 32 bit. (Options - Display)

I've read somewhere, that you might be able to unpack the *.bos files with Winzip, so the game dosen't have to unpack them. Don't know excatly how it works, but after what I read they should just be placed in what ever directory winzip wanted to place them in, also you should overwirte any files.

How much did you install of the game?

I did the complete install.

When I go to the display options menu I can only choose the 1024x760 mode. There are no other options listed.

Do I need to get an updated video driver?
