Can you stop aging?

Problem with this game (and all games that allow you to age) is that if you're the type that likes to do it all, you're dude is OLD man by the time you're at the end. Really takes the steam out of you when you have the best sword, best gear, rich and famous...and 67 years old.

Also, is there a way to get the book with the key on the first attempt?
If I load 3 seperate times and check all 3 books I am always caught...how hard does that year of torture affect stats and hero performance when he gets out?

Dude

Dude, it's impossible to get the key the first go. Always the second. A tip to reduce your age is to get all xp and train full all of your pools and then to go and sacarafice at the Chapel or pay at the Temple.

Ok so you're guaranteed at least 1 yr of torture, that blows. Thanks

You lost me on the second part, how do you fully train all your pools?
This thread prolly gonna get closed anyway, I'll search boards for age reduction.
Is there a plastic surgery hack in the game (kidding)

I think he means you should gain all skills and spells possible, so that when you donate/sacrifice to reduce age, you can't possibly age any further through level ups.

Exactly! If you just get your gift of youth only to get older shortly after, it's a waste of time!

not aging = not wasting any xp on ANY magic stuff.
Ive made a char purely based on magic, and he was old. All my other stats (phys, health, toughness, guile, speed, acurecy) where 1.
So just keep it to the warriors side to stay young :P

or...

USE A TRAINER :D
simply click: age 18 / 21 / 30 / 40 / 60
done :D

I've made several mele and ranged pures but they still age, dude. No matter what you train on it will make you older. Btw trainers are amazing if you want to reduce your age!

I fact, strength and skill level ups will age you faster than spell gains.

The max of age is 65.
You can lose 10 at the Chapel pf Skorm - only once, AFAIK; there's no quests here to employ Hero Save;
However, you can use Hero Save exploit to decrease your age in the Temple of Avo (on Find Archaeologist quest; not on Knothole quests, don't be deceived, there Avo's Temple is outside of the quest area). If you do it, you may stay young forever - if you have maxed your char before that; the number of years here seems to depend, besides the amount of donation in gold, on how many points you have to have to the completely good alignment, so you may have to become more evil to get younger here - if not other way then eating Chicken (5 Evil for every Chick). In TLC (don't know about initial Fable) you aren't restricted to the area, so you can bring a bodyguard or two to the Chapel of Skorm to shift your alignment a bit. It's said you need at least 200 space to become Good'er; i'd rather guess it's 500 to get all 10 years (i myself never have; max 9, min 5).

P.S. I, it seems, was wrong about the Chapel of Skorm. Even being a Necormancer i managed to become 18 years old here - however, using Hero Saves with purpose to do it at Temple of Avo... Nonetheless, it seems that you may lessen the age in the Chapel after becoming Necromancer.

Right. I took the schedule Twinblade's Camp->Chapel->Temple (to take bodyguard)->Chapel->Temple (after youth, avoided to become Paladin), sometimes including Bowerstone - i was just choosing the sites not too far to run after a bodyguard  . I had taken the bow even before, so on first "gift" the my Hero got the title. On last run i was going to get last "gift of youth" at the Temple, the Chapel was only to make Hero a bit evil (to make space for Avo's Temple - you know, if you're too good it's a bit hard to got a gift there :mischief: ). To my surprise on leaving the Chapel i recognized that i was already 18 instead of 25 or 27 (cannot recall exactly) ... Avo tried to give "the gift of youth" anyway, or so its servant tell, but one here cannot be younger than 18, so it's just a gesture of good will :) On next donation the title was promptly granted...

Cool. Does anyone have a age trainer, though?

Have you tried to search on forum for "trainer"? There was an url somewhere (though at that place you probably might have another url because suspected troyan or something alike). Be warned, it's only PC; there's no trainers for xbox, AFAIK.

However, the game is so simple and features (even in means of exploits) so rich that one hardly needs a trainer.

I'll try that.

Be warned: i haven't been able to reproduce the effect on the second run. Either i've missed something or the effect has certain conditions.

Aging

So wait, is 10 years the max you can decrease at once, and can you keep age decreasing at either church multiple times after obtaining the corresponding title?

You can do this once. Unless you use the hero save exploit. If you use the hero save exploit, you will decrease in age eveytime you use the chapel untill you move on with the quest.
