A truly aggravating aspect

I've been skimming most of the "popular" threads and decided to toss a wrench in the works just for the heck of it.

There've been several comments, for and against, the game's treatment of mature subject matter, sex, violence, combat simplicity, etc.

Personally, I reached the end of chapter III and feel the following opinions on the game must be made.

Some of the cutscenes could be better placed, as I've mentioned in another thread.

Other than slow loading times and the occasional animation slow-down, I've no complaints on the game's execution. My computer far exceeds the minimum specs except for the CPU which is a P4 2.4, thus only just meeting the requirement. So I'm quite happy with the performance.

The sexual escapades are quite well done overall, and while they certainly aren't essential to gameplay, they do inject a bit more 'humanity' to the characters. After all, I've seen the question asked thousands of times: "where are the toilets on this ship?" I don't expect uber-realism in any game that I play. That's why I play - to escape life temporarily. But I think the occasional injection of the illusion of reality only increases the desire to suspend one's disbelief in the more surrealistic aspects, creating a more enjoyable atmosphere.

But all in all, I've encountered one small aspect of the game that truly grates on my nerves in a way that I've not experienced since the initial release of Gothic.

These bloody guardsmen that strut all over the trade quarter, yelling "honor" at all hours of the day, every few minutes in a screeching, chalkboard tone that succeeds only in raises my blood pressure with every outcry.

This aspect feels like it's tacked on rather than an integral part of the game, just like the hookers in the GTA series and the mini-games in Fable to name a few, in my opinion.

I also find this irritating but not up till the point of blowing my top. It would be better if they'd just shut up. :p

P.S. By the way, hello and welcome to the forums, Thora3967. :)

A little too random

It just needs to be more context sensitive. I had one holler out "Honor!", just as he was helping me sneak out of the sewers into the restricted section of the Trade Quarter. Good thing nobody was listening.
