Character Level

This might sound a bit like a stupid question, but what actually gaining character levels do? Bonus to learning? More health? ... or what?

you get adv points as you gain xp but once you reach a level you get bonus adv points for reaching that level. So that is kind of a bonus.

OK, thanks! I've noticed that, i was just wondering if there is some other "bonus" too...
Btw, is there a maximum level for skills?

the cost rises by more and more each level up. So eventually the cost is insanely high.
I don't know about engine limits though.
strike has a bug (for some people not others) where it wraps around at 100
