Hi. I expect a few crashes but my game keeps crashing every few seconds. I have the Dungeon Lords collector's edition and my system is fairly modern. I'm running Vista with Geforce 8800 Gtx and soundblaster Sbx-FI sound card. Processor is dual core 2.4ghz and 2 gigs of RAM. I'm not getting error messages but it does crash quickly. I've tried just about every setting combination and even tried hiding all microsoft services in msconfig. Whats interesting is when I enable and disable "run as administrator" it loads different saves...one save under "run as admistrator" when enabled and if played without admistrator feature it won't show any saves used under "run as administrator" feature. Suggestions? I really want to get this game working.

Sounds like a compatibility issue.

Might try...

Having separate saves is generally a function of Vista's virtualization of files.

Any files created in the program files folder, and certain others, by a program without administrator rights is sent to a different folder, and the program is then pointed to that folder when it requests the files.

Switching to an administrator eliminates the virtualization, so it will be looking in a diffferent place...namely, where the files are actually supposed to be.

To see this in action, and to locate the path to some of your save files, go to the saves folder and click the compatibility files tab. Any files you see after clicking that are not actually there. You can look at their properties to find their actual path.
