HI, Guys and Gals!
Carol here.
I just started playing Mask of the Betrayer and I have a question. If Safiya's familiar dies, is there a way to get it back or am I out of luck?
Thanks.

Summoning familiars is treated as a once per day feat, so you'd just need to rest to get it back.

Mask of the Betrayer

Hi!
Carol here. Thanks for the info. Now I have another problem. I am in the Veil Theater and cannot kill the Red Wizard and the gnolls before dying, Safiya included. Is there a good way to eliminate these guys before dying?
Thanks.

What kind of character are you playing?

You can always buff up before you enter the theater, and you should set up Safiya so she has the persistent haste spell available. If you haven't yet, you might also want to buy some spells for Safiya, like fireball.

ting to the Door, Casting a cloud spell (don't remember which), and Gating in a Demon (level 9 Wizard spell).
I was a Wizard at the time.

Mask of the Betrater

Thanks, Guys!
Got through the Veil Theater. Now I am going after Okku and the spirit army. I have another question. What is causing the yellow areas is different places? I have been trying to kill the spirit army but now there is a yellow area by the Mulsantir Gate that I cannot get beyond. What triggered these areas and how do I get rid of them? Thanks for your help.

If it's a big yellow square on the ground (similar to the red squares you see when you come across a trap) it's an interaction square and you have debug mode turned on.

Simply turn debug mode off and they'll disappear!

Thanks, Tollas! I didn't realize that debug mode was still on. I was trying to increase Strength but it didn't work. Of course, I was probably doing something wrong. Any help on that point would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have another question. Can I increase the number in my party to say six instead of four? Also, does the spirit-eater curse ever go away or do I have to Devour Spirit or Suppress throughout the game? Thanks for any help that you can provide. As you can see, I need all the help that I can get so please excuse all the questions.
Thanks again.

Spoiler tag in use for the Rest of the Post.

Spoiler
to raise ANY attribute, you must have a character targetted. Specifically, the one who's stat you wish to raise, the command for Strength is SetSTR ## (where ## is the new base value you wish). DEX, CHA, INT, WIS, CON are the others.

(Raising Party Limit)THere is a Hack over on the Vault (I believe) that does this. If you need, look for one of Melirinda's posts on the Bioware forums. AFAIK, no debug command exists for this in MotB...

(Spirit Eater Curse) I'll not spoil the game ENTIRELY, but.... that IS what the game is about..... When you get rid of it, it's game over. Or you can keep it.

Either way, You really SHOULD play the game first, before asking THIS question. Some of the Answer will not make much sense, untill you actually GET the ending. I'll drop one hint: Drink from the Waters of the well.

Mask of the Betrayer

I'm sorry, Golden Dragon! May I ask what the Spoiler Tag means? I have not had this happen to me before so do I have to do something different to get some help from you people who have been so much help in the past? I apologize for being so stupid when it comes to these forums and playing RPG games. Could you be so kind to explain to me what I did wrong so that I don't do it again? I am 65 years old so I probably do not get everything right all the time. That is why I ask for help. So please help me understand. Okay? Thanks.

The spoiler tag means he's posting information where the only way to read it is to highlight it, so you'll have to click and drag the mouse over his post to read it. We use spoiler tags in the forum so people don't inadvertently learn things about the campaign that they'd rather discover on their own.
